  • This is a great borescope camera kit
I love it! ...I wrote to the company telling them the size I needed and what it was for and they recommended this model to me, AND gave me a discount code, which I thought was super cool of them! The device is very nice. Crystal clear picture, and good ergonomics and durability. The cable is quite long, but still manageable. The main portion of the cable is a durable hard rubber material, and the end bit where the camera is has a woven mesh style canvas to protect the feed line. The cameras are slightly inset, to be shielded from dings, and they come with a hook and magnetic attachment. Inside the case you'll find an accessories kit with wet wipes and cleaning cloth, as well as charging cable, mini brush, and lens swabs. All this is packed inside a dense foam-packed soft carry case, with cutouts for the accessory pack, the main unit, and a cutout for the cable to tuck in all the way around the outside of the case, while still being fully protected. Inside the main unit housing, under a dust cover is the removable SD card. The SD card is a little hard to get out, because the spring loaded SD card mechanism is recessed decently far down into the body of the unit. When you plug in the unit to a PC the SD card does not pop up as detected. So, it is required that you remove the SD card to access the files - there's no pass-thru connection. The cable is for charging only, it appears. I failed to format the SD card when it arrived, because I had assumed that would be something they'd do before it left the factory, and I found basically what amounts to forbidden video / lost footage. Just being silly. It's video inside the factory, of the ceiling, and sounds of the equipment being assembled and workers talking. Always format your cards, people! :P The clip that was supposed to be recorded started out in the first few seconds okay, and then it cut over to the mystery footage - so I'm not actually sure if it's an issue with the SD card or not - because it wasn't in its own file, and it started recording my footage before it stopped and suddenly cut over to the older footage from assembly... Just very very strange... The cable is firm but still flexible. I attempted to fit it thru a few tight holes and it did go thru but there was a bit of resistance, so just know it won't immediately bend over as soon as it hits something, you do have to feed it and flex it a bit if it's a rough or tight area - it won't self correct. The menus on the head unit are quite easy to navigate and very self-explanatory. You can change between 1080p and 720p. You can set the date and time. You can completely turn off the showing of the date/time on recorded files. You can turn on a crosshair to keep you centered. You can adjust screen brightness. You can turn the button sounds on or off. You can set an auto power off to certain duration. You can change default languages. The cameras are very good quality. Everything was very clear and in focus when I was using it. I had no issues with the cameras at all. There's also multiple digital zoom levels, up to 10x. The view does appear to distort slightly and make the objects appear fatter, side to side, at some zoom levels. You can set the unit to main camera only, side camera only, and a split-screen main camera next to side camera. It seems like a very solid unit. The first thing I did with mine was to bore-scope a .308 M1A. I know they make dedicated devices for doing this, but it was a one-time thing, which I didn't need a dedicated unit for - Just a one and done. After this I'll use it for household ducting and vehicles. I could very clearly see the lands and grooves of the rifling in the barrel, and the gas tube port. I also got a look at the recoil springs. Everything checks out well in my book when doing inspections with this camera. I like it! ... show more

  • Value for money
For ot the cost, this is hands down the best scope I have used so far. It saved me having to take a transfer case apart when I dropped a filler cap in there. Picture is clear and the lighting is good. Recommend it

  • Good Enough to Write a Review
After researching nearly every borescope on Amazon I settled on the DXZtoz model. My primary use is automotive and around the house repair tasks. I chose to splurge on the .25 inch probe with dual cameras and articulating end so I don't have to buy another model anytime soon. I also wanted something that just works with no phone app middleman. The borescope arrived in a nice case. The fiber optic cord is easy to maneuver and stays mostly in place. The cord length seems sufficient for the majority of my needs. Sewer drain cameras are a different category of tool. The cord exiting the top of the device is good engineering vs the bottom and makes the tool much easier to use. The manual states you should not use the articulating end with the cord coiled. The controls are intuitive. The screen resolution matches the camera image quality. More on that later. The light intensity is adjustable but don't expect to see too far in a dark environment. The unit works best at close range such as a few inches or less. The light gets surprisingly warm to the touch but has not been a problem. The articulating head with dual cameras is a must have if you want a tool and not a toy. You can easily view your saved images or audio/video recordings on the fairly nice screen. The SD card requires a tool such as hemostats or a fuse puller to remove if you have short nails. The card itself comes out and reinserts easily. The quality is on par with the modest price and has a 1 year warranty I believe. DXZ responded to an email inquiry I sent in a couple of days. My biggest gripes are the fairly low mega pixel camera and lack of ability to transfer data to my computer without physical removing the SD card. The images are not bad and they are at 1080 resolution size. They just don't look any better on my computer than the tool's screen (larger but no increase in detail quality). The images are around 250kb to give you an idea of quality. This is sufficient for most tasks. I found that AI upscaling on my computer helps which is why I wish it was easier to transfer images I.e. over USB. Taking a photo with your camera phone is a quick if non ideal option. I noticed that sometimes the screen would show starburst images over the object in question. Turns out wiping the camera lense with an alcohol pad fixes this problem. You will need to purchase a box of these as you will quickly run through the included supply. For the price the DXZ checks most boxes. I am glad I opted for this cord length, camera size, and the bells and whistles for a little extra money. The next steps up from here would probably rise exponentially in cost. You could also save a few dollars and regret not having a better Borescope. ... show more

  • This product exceeded my expectations.
More than satisfied with this item, although I’m not sure about the actual length of time the battery last and most applications I wouldn’t use that item that long anyway. The manufacturer states is four hours. But I was impressed by all of the other functionality, the quality of the case and the equipment the way it was packed and the versatility of the electronic menu. I definitely recommend this product and the price was very reasonable. ... show more

  • Easier to use the articulating feature
Clear image, and the articulating feature is easier to control than other articulating models on the market. Instead of having to twist a knob while you’re trying to aim the scope you can just move the lever right in front of the screen with your thumb.

  • Its first project paid for it.
I am very happy. I used it to go into a wall to find a water leak. It paid for itself on its first project. Split screen with video worked flawlessly. Highly recommend this product.
