I purchased this radiator while overhauling the cooling system on my 97 Jeep TJ 2.5L. I purchased this one because it was 1/3 the cost of what my local auto parts store wanted and I was on a budget. I had very low expectations but was pleasantly surprised when the radiator arrived. It was packaged nicely and seemed like really decent quality. Installation went pretty smoothly. Like others have mentioned, I had to make some minor adjustments to get my fan shroud holes to line up. But the extra 5 minutes of work was well worth the cost savings. In the end, there were no leaks and the new radiator is cooling my Jeep perfectly. I would absolutely buy this unit again if I ever needed to for another vehicle. ... show more

Installation went fairly well by swapping the side brackets from my old radiator to the new one. Some of the mounting / shroud holes were in the wrong place... It seems that Chinese manufacturers just can't seem to get details right. Time will tell if it holds up and does the job when I hit the trails in hot weather. ... show more

I read reviews of more expensive radiators and they seemed to have problems. If I'm going to have problems I'm going to pay as little as I can. It's not a lot of labor to throw one of these in and I can throw foreign for the price of the better one. And even the OEM is garbage

    • fan shroud mounting holes not threaded
Fits a YJ Wrangler. The mounting holes for the fan shroud and PS fluid tank are not tapped or threaded for the retaining bolts. You will need to use nuts or zip ties. A minor annoyance but likely ALL the aftermarket replacements are the same way. The old speed nuts for the radiator mounting will proabbly break so buy a handful at the local hardware store. ... show more

    • Not an exact replacement
Buyer beware - The unit seems to be a good replacement, however after installation, I noted the shroud did not have any securing nuts on the filler side. In addition the holes were not in the same place as the original. I hade to remove the new one, place the shroud on it, and drill holes to secure the shroud. I am just hoping this is not an example of its integrity - time will tell ... show more

    • Be prepared to modify!
Not an exact fit. Requires sheet metal cutting or, like we did, take the ones that came with it off and replace with the old ones. Worst proble was connectors to transmission cooler were totally different and required revamping the hose ends.

    • reuse your old brackets :-), looks nice construction, think itll work ok :-)
I reused my old brackets and it was pretty easy. the 2 far side fan shroud holes aren't threaded for the sheet metal screws sooo youll either have to bolt that side in or reuse your old brackets. reusing the old brackets wasn't too hard, I had to hammer them flat a bit and Dremel the holes a little bigger, but its on the car now and happy about that. I have not filled it up and tested it yet, but should work ok lol :-) Edit: its now September, and I replaced in july. working great !!! note I had to put a small hose clamp on the radiator cap port as its not long enough to just let a hose push on it. no complaints here :-) pretty happy with it. ... show more
