This is a great size both for my dog and for my apartment as a table for my VCR/DVD player. I have a 16 pound Yorkie/Shih-Tzu cross. Assembly instructions were multi-step but very precise and helpful. At first, the pieces felt flimsy, and I questioned how sturdy it would be; however, I could feel it getting more and more sturdy as assembly progressed. It holds my dog quite well and safely. I ordered these kennels for our two (soon to be three) Chihuahuas and we are VERY pleased! The quality and style is remarkable for the price. All three kennels were easy to assemble with all parts included. The items were very well packaged and faired much better than the box it arrived in. The functionality is exactly what we were looking for and being that we're in a small city apartment, the kennels don't consume much space at all and provide ample space inside for our dogs. This product will work great for well-mannered, crate-trained dogs but may not be sturdy enough for destructive or highly anxious pups. Overall for the price and quality, it's a win!

When reading reviews, my first thought is always, "Why 4 stars and not 5 stars?" I am giving this product 4 stars because of concerns I have with how it was manufactured. 1. As I was assembling it (which took approximately 50min doing it myself) I noticed that some of the screw holes were not drilled big enough to accommodate the screws. This was frustrating since the main crate assembly requires only one size screw. I don't necessarily think this is the seller's fault as they aren't testing assembly on every crate they sell, but the manufacturing is a little faulty in that regard. Also, it was one screw which in the grand scheme of things isn't too terrible. That being said, the issue was with a screw for the back panel and did not take away much from the crate itself as I have the back panel against the wall in my home. If I were to move the crate, I just need to be mindful that the back panel is loose on one of the four screws it takes to put on. 2. Another manufacturer concern is that it's somewhat unclear as to what purpose the last piece in the assembly instructions serves. It is for a flat piece that is intended to be a swing latch for after you shut the two forward-facing doors. The photo is unclear and I have not ever seen a mechanism like that before. Be sure not to overtighten the right-sided screw. Be sure to use this latch otherwise the front doors can be pushed against which would bend the actual door lock and likely break the crate if the pet is eager and determined to escape. 3. There is a door for the side of the crate which is very useful. However, the instructions do not indicate that you should assemble the door latch until the end. Unfortunately, the holes for the side door latch will be inaccessible if you follow the booklet instructions. The next to last step in assembly is to add the forward-facing doors and the bottom brace which holds them in place. ******Before you do this, assemble your latch for the side door.****** Then add the front two doors and continue as the booklet instructs. Overall I am pleased with the crate. It serves its purpose and fits our aesthetic. If the instructions were a little clearer and the screw holes fit properly, I would give it 5/5 stars.

This dog crate is very nice & sturdy! It’s open on 3 sides and the back is a wooden board. I bought 2 of them & It works perfectly for my dogs. They have extra room to move around & it’s also nice that it’s a table top so it’s also functional. The only thing I do not like is the locking mechanism. It can be a little difficult to open. Overall, it is an awesome purchase.

One person can put it together with the provided tools, but two will work better. You really need a table and plenty of space. I did it with neither. It is a really nice piece of furniture. It takes a cat about five seconds to figure out how to escape through the sides or bottom. As another person pointed out, I would be concerned about a small dog getting its head caught in the spaces at the sides on the top. I have no idea why they left that much space as joining the sides to the top would make it structurally stronger. I am not certain how much weight it will hold internally but I weigh 200 pounds and I have leaned heavily on the top without it budging. It is by no stretch of the imagination internally water proof. Cleaning it isn't easy. To be honest, I'm using it for storage and to keep my cats away from my houseplants but not to house any animals. Cats are a definite no in it and I would worry about dogs. But it is really, really nice looking.

We have crated our dog for the past 4 years . When kids come over we crate because she gets over protective and it’s safer for her and them. Decided to get what we thought was a nicer crate than the ocean state job lot crate we’ve had her in safely for years. Putting this crate together it seemed the grates were small diamond shaped with rough/sharp edges compared to the smooth round edges on our cheap crate. She’s been in this new crate for less then 3 weeks and it cut off the tip of her nose. If you have an aggressive dog this crate is not for you.

We have 10 week old puppies that lost their mama at 4 weeks. Bought 2 of these crates and the 3 puppies are already crate trained. They sleep well in them and whine when we need to take them out for potty breaks. Best way to raise puppies as they feel safe in these beds. The crates themselves are in attractive end tables in our livingroom. They open with a single door on the narrow side and double doors on the wide side. It’s very easy for the dog to exit or for us to reach in for a puppy. They seem to be very sturdy and well build too. Have already recommended these to friends with dogs.
