Style: 4,850-Watt Dual Fuel
So I recently received this generator and did a break in start. I ran it for 1 hour varying load between 0, 750w, and 1000w. I used propane to do first break in time. If you are familiar with generators it is a simple set up. Item packaged well and no damage in shipping. I contacted support via email about being able to use synthetic oil after it is broken in using conventional oil. They responded quickly and gave me the ok. Do not use synthetic oil to break a motor in ONLY conventional oil. I also contacted a friend of mine who is a motor genius and asked for recommendation on what oil to use. He recommended Honda 10w30 as his oil of choice. I followed his recommendation. He also was the person who advised the 45 minute to 1 hours break in under light variable load. It took (4) attempts using the starter button to start motor for the first time using propane as fuel. This due to my caution and generally letting the gas work its way to motor. ONE VERY IMPORTANT note for people to understand is not riding the "STARTER BUTTON" for more than 5 seconds AND waiting 10 seconds between start attempts. If you ride the starter button too long you can burn the starter unit up and it will be worthless. I only pushed the button 3 seconds being cautious as first time start up. On the fifth start it fired right up instantly and ran well the entire time. I am sure it would of started right up had fuel ( propane) been in the system. I gave sound a 5 star rating some might argue that, but generator motors will make noise. I have a spot that absorbs most of the noise so for me it is fine. Motor sounded solid, ran well, and completed break in task. The electric start, wheels/handles, and weight are all good for the size. I purchased back up brushes and voltage regulators for it as a precaution looking into future. Generally if something is going to go wrong with items like this it will happen soon and having an extra voltage regulator ( wearable part) is prudent. I really like the propane fuel as most my needs for a generator will be short term. I do not like to leave gas in the tank at any time. I always shut fuel valve off small motors and let gas run out then drain tank. I also use Non-Ethanol fuel only. Being aware of 5 sec start, 10 second rest, with electric start and use of non-ethanol gas only (draining after use and emptying carburetor) are a few things that will make the life of the product hassle free and reliable. ... show more

  • So far so good !
Style: 4,850-Watt Dual Fuel
Ok first... bought this on Amazon as an open box item. Saved close to $100. Received the generator. Box was re taped as stated. Generator seemed not to have been removed from the box. Removed everything from the box. Assembled handles. One was bent at the bracket. No big deal. Made it fit. Installed the wheels. One was bent pretty bad and Wobbles crooked when you roll it. No big deal. I didn't buy it to push it around. These slight damages to me seems like shipping damages. Maybe someone else wouldn't accept it but hey I saved a lot of dough I'll take it. :-) Like I said I do not think the unit was ever removed from the box. So I poured in some gasoline fired it up. Started quick and ran fine. One mistake I made ..... and when I called customer service they seem to be very used to calls about this... They wrap up the LPG hose and tuck it into the frame of the generator for shipping. I did not see this at first with a bag full of parts and thinking in my mind to get some gasoline and it just to start it to make sure it runs... It's running for a few minutes and of course I smell some slight burning and I figure okay no big deal it's brand-new maybe just some paint burning off. Then I shut it off and I see more smoke. LOL a closer look and I found the LPG hose tucked away deep into the frame had melted and was burned. So Amazon send me a new one no questions right away awesome customer service from Amazon thank you very much. I hooked up your average BBQ propane tank to it hit the primer button a few more times than they recommend and once again it started right up no problems and ran well. I've been running it about an hour at a clip just to do the 5-Hour break-in period. So that is done and now it's time to change the oil as recommended. So far so good. The thing starts up very easily with the key and runs very well. Everything works and seems very solid. The only thing so far I found I don't like is the gas gauge I don't know what the hell is going on there it looks like some kind of rubber band or something . Could have been a better gauge if you ask me. It seems to get stuck while rolling the generator and moving it around. But hey that's minor I can live with that. After I get around to changing the oil I will come back and add some more here about that experience. So far so good great machine very happy! Can't wait for the next disaster! LOL *UPDATE* ... 9/03 So unsurprisingly the oil drain plug / bolt is not in the best location. So I used the supplied rubber funnel and a piece of masking tape under the cross member to hold the funnel in place. Worked very well. I hate making a mess and I hate cleaning up. More work, wasted time. Not a drop on the floor this way. Nice.! ** another update... January 2019 ** Okay January 19th. They are predicting some Sub-Zero weather so I figured let me get this bad boy ready to go if I need it. It's been sitting in the same spot since September. So when I roll it out I realize the Wheels have flat spots. And when I first opened it it did occur to me that the wheels seemed to be very cheap and toy like. But I'm like hey they are round and they roll so whatever. Well they are not round anymore. LOL. Not a big deal adding on here I just have to put my two cents in and say I think for a machine that I feel was built so well and is such a good deal, I think they could have went the extra mile put some nice heavy duty inflatable rubber tires on this thing. I mean it is quite heavy now that I think about it, quite a bit of weight parked on those cheap plastic Wheels. So that's it just wanted to add that on. Other than that the battery held the charge for about 5 months in the cold now and it started right up no problem. Still Loving It and haven't even had to use it yet ... show more
