  • Sturdy enough for small weights
I have mixed opinions about this dumbbell weight rack. First I will list the good stuff. The rack is made of steel and it does feel sturdy. It has a black coating on it which I think will help protect it from scratches during use, or rust spots. It has side racks that will hold up to 12 dumbbells but there are also two shelves that can be used to store dumbbells or other gym equipment. It is sturdy enough for small weights and a versatile gym storage option. I have both rubber coated dumbbells (which are smaller), and iron dumbbells which are larger. Some dumbbells racks are too wide to hold the smaller rubber coated dumbbells, but this one will hold them (see the pic). So it holds different sizes of dumbbells, and I think this rack will work fine for smaller weights of 30lbs. or less. I like that it has wheels and you can roll it around as needed. Two of the wheels also have locks to keep the rack in place. Now I will go into the not so good stuff. It has rubber covers for the side racks that help protect your dumbbells, and your hands, from damage. That is good. However, you have to slide them on and there are 24 of them. I am not sure why they don't come with them on the racks. They are not difficult to put on but it does take a lot of time. Which brings me to the assembly. It is not terribly difficult to assemble, but there are lots of nuts and bolts. You have to screw them into the corner areas of the shelves and it takes a little bit of twisting and turning it around to get a good angle to maneuver the standard wrench and Allen wrench while you are doing it. I did it alone, but it would help to have two people doing it. The wrenches are included. The instructions are small and difficult to read, but I managed. I have put together dumbbell racks before so I have some prior experience. As so often seems to be the case these days, the instructions are so small that I relied more on common sense and trial and error than looking at the instructions. But the main reason I decided to go with 4 stars instead of 5 is that if I am going to fill all 12 of the rack positions, I do not trust this rack with weights weighing more than 35lbs. Putting anything more than 35lbs would mean adding 80lbs (40lbs*2) total to the load bearing capacity of this dumbbell rack. If I fill it up with 35lbs. and less that means I would have (in lbs.) 30*2=60, 25*2=50, 20*2=40, 15*2=30, 10*2=20, 5*2=10 or about 210lbs. total. I just don't feel comfortable going over that with this rack. I am giving it four stars because it is sturdy enough to do its job with smaller weights, but I don't think it rises to the level of 5 stars. ... show more

  • Small but sturdy, Poor Instructions
This rack stand is on the smallish side. I've shown it next to a 26" exercise ball and a recumbent bike just to give it scale. The item arrived well packaged with no damage, but there were missing parts. No washers were included in the hardware, though the "instructions" seemed to indicate using them. Fortunately I have plenty of washers in my garage. I've shown a complete copy of the instruction sheet - there are no words and the pictures are small and difficult to interpret. I had to remove and reinstall at least one large part to make the cart come together as intended. Having said all that, it does seem to be a sturdy piece of equipment, and will store a number of items to make our little exercise room neater. It will hold 6 pairs of dumbbells, but the smallest 2-pound dumbbells are just a bit to narrow for the rack. But for the lack of instructions and missing washers I'd have rated this item higher. ... show more

  • Works great, holds a lot?
Really easy to put together. Instructions are clear, but all pictures with the pieces numbers/letters shown. All hardware included! Mine is set up pretty messy but it holds so much equipment. Love that everything is together and that it can role around as I need to move. Very sturdy and functions perfectly. This is great for any home gym! ... show more

  • Sturdy Cart with Great Value but Tricky Assembly
This cart is overall a solid buy. The materials feel durable and sturdy once everything is put together, and it holds a good amount of weight without wobbling. The size is just right for fitting into smaller spaces while still providing plenty of storage, which makes it very practical. I also didn’t notice any strong chemical smell, which can sometimes be an issue with products like this. The only drawback is the assembly process. The instructions are poorly written and not very helpful, so it takes a little patience to figure out. Thankfully, the design is intuitive enough that after some trial and error it comes together fine. Once assembled, it’s reliable and functions exactly as expected. For the price, this cart offers excellent value for money. If you don’t mind spending a bit of extra time putting it together, it’s a great choice. ... show more

  • Nice rack (mostly), but needs a diagonal cross brace to be sturdier
The media could not be loaded. I've been wanting a stand for my weights to get them off the floor and hadn't even considered that I could have a stand that also holds dumbbells, kettle balls, and other things. This is a really great idea and it is pretty solid, but unfortunately it does manage to fall a bit short. It is mostly solid. It is mostly well made. The gauge of the steel that was used is appropriate. I like that it includes rubber bits to protect the dumbbells and your hands from being scratched up. I like that it has locking wheels. I like that it has two shelves and plenty of storage space. I like that there's a handle so you can easily move it about your home gym. There is a lot that I like about this stand. But, there is a design flaw in that it flexes when pulled from the handle over foam gym tiles and I'm afraid that if I'm not careful, I'll bend it permanently. Actually, it's worse than that. It wobbles back and forth with a light push, even when it isn't holding significant weight. It's really just held square by right angle bends at the attachment point of the dumbbell racks to the top shelf. Basically, it needs a diagonal strap or two across the back or a couple of corner angle braces. I will probably end up adding one myself. In the meantime, I'm moving it carefully by pushing from the bottom shelf. For the price, I feel like I shouldn't have to fix it myself, and so I'm knocking off two stars. A diagonal brace and this would have been a five star review. ... show more
