These well made dumbbell set. They come with a slight oil film, probably release coating from the molds in manufacturing. I did not have the odor others mentioned. The stand was super easy to assemble. They look well made, and a great price.

Reposting this same review as I had the same experience: This one-star review is due to missing pieces from the stand after it was shipped to my house, and no easy resolution from Amazon to fix it. The stand was missing all hardware (bolts/nuts) and the top piece that connects the two vertical pieces, rendering it useless. Amazon won't ship just those missing pieces - they want me to return it, which means boxing it up (150 lbs of weights in which several of the original boxes were destroyed during shipping) and driving it to the UPS store. I am hoping that Amazon will have a better option than this and contact me. The weights themselves look and feel good when in use. I didn't experience the strong smell others have mentioned - a little rubbery smelling out of the box but it dissipated fairly soon.

The dumbbells themselves are nice, but the set shipped in two different boxes that got here days apart, then when the second box got here and the package was marked as delivered, we still didn’t have our 25lb dumbbells. Amazon’s options to contact the seller aren’t there, our only option is to return or replace, and that will require all new boxes because the ones they were shipped in were destroyed when they arrived. It’ll cost us a bunch of money to send them back when really all we want is to get a replacement for the 25lb pair, given it wasn’t shipped to us. There’s an open spot on the stand, the stand works great, the other dumbbells are great, but we’re missing the most useful pair for us.

Great for the price!! Boxes came all busted up, but the weights were fine. They off gassed for at least a month, super smelly like tires and oil. That’s why the 4 stars.

Stand did not assemble and align properly on all sections it needed to, instructions were also a joke. Everything was sturdy and seemed to be made of good material. Everything came covered in a thick oil like substance that took a good two hours to scrub off. The grip seemed nice and the size of everything was good. Would recommend for a cheap set of home dumbbells. The boxes did come shredded at home door from shipping and couldn’t even carry them in without the weights falling out but I imagine that’s more on UPS then the seller.

Looking at the previous review was hesitant to order, about the smell n damage n lot of negative reviews, but I’m happy I ordered. I ordered on Tuesday 11 pm everything came on Thursday afternoon in two days all the package came at the same time, I was thinking to open n wash it outside took a chance n open my first box everything was perfect no smell no grease package was nicely packed only one was little bit ripped no damage I’m so happy with my purchase without any doubt you can order for your home workout I give 5 ⭐️

This item was exactly as described and at a good price. The weights were dripping in some type of petroleum like oil in the package. I have cleaned them twice and left them outdoors for 7 days to try to stop them from smelling. They still stink and are stinking up my home even though I have them covered with a towel.
