I used this product to replace the slide out awning on my 2006 rockwood forest river travel trailer. My trailer is 27 feet long with one slide out. The awning was worn out and shredded no longer doing its job. My husband and I took the old one out first. We cleaned the top of the slide out and also the tracks the new fabric would go into. We used the old tarp as a pattern and cut the new one to the proper width. We put the back and the front poly cords in and slid it over until it was in place. Installation was simple and the new awning looks and performs great! We did watch a video on the installation on you tube. It is very important to use an awl or a long thin screwdriver to hold the roller in place so the spring will keep its tension so it can wind itself up properly and work well after the installation. There is no mention in the description of what the diameter of the polycord installed in the awning. There are two different diameters, the larger is for the coach side and the smaller is for the awning tube. Apparently, not all awning tube are the same because it is impossible for me to slide the awning side of the cover into the channel. The coach side fits without any issues. My suggestion is to remove your old cover first and measure the polycord diameters. My awning side is .15 and the coach side is .25 inches. The manufacturer states in the packaging of the cover that the awning side is .19 and the coach side is .23 inches. I think this product will work well (if it fit). I purchased this slide topper awning to replace the topper for my 2005 Four Winds Class C Motorhome. After viewing a few YouTube videos, I was convinced that I could do it myself and save big bucks. I had heard quotes of much as $1,000 for material and installation and I was able to get the materials for $66 and do it myself (with the help of my 51 year old daughter and 25 year old grandson). I am 82 years old am a stroke survivor so I pretty much supervised the installation. I was able to remove the old awning by myself with no problem. Installing the new one was a little more challenging. Even though I put wd40 on both slides it was still a chore to pull the awning on. That's where the grandson was helpful. By the way, when you have the awning off is a good time to spray the rubber seals with 3X Chemistry Seal Saver. You can order that on Amazon too. The most important place to spray is the part that attaches to the RV so that as the slide goes in and out, the seal go back and forth. Hope that makes sense. ... show more

This is a very good replacement covering for my old and torn slide out. The fabric is comparable with the original that came with the RV. And the white is way better than the black for reflecting the heat from the sun. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to buy a replacement.

Easy to install after watching YouTube videos. Easy with 2 people. To bad it was folded that left wrinkles but good for the price. Can’t say how it will hold up.
