Description

During the cold weather months, windows become a prime spot for energy loss. Duck Max Strength Brand Rolled Window Insulation Kits feature a puncture- resistant rolled film that is two times thicker than standard window kits to create an added barrier between the outdoor air and your home's inside. These heavy-duty window insulation kits help to block drafts that lead to high heating costs and are great for high-traffic or pet-friendly households. Our window kit film comes in an easy-to-use roll of shrink film, which means no measuring needed — simply cut the extra film off once applied. • Amazing product will save me hundreds in heating costs!! Try this!!
Size: Standard Window - 5 Pack
Great deal on this insulation kit. We live in a VERY cold part of the country and I did not even know these DIY insulation kits existed! Tried it out with one bedroom window that allows a lot of winter cold through and voila!! The instructions were perfectly clear and easy to understand and the product easy to install. Just cut to size of window, stick plastic to adhesive and use a hairdryer to make the plastic snug, similar to shrink wrapping (the LOW heat setting slowly shrinks the plastic to fit your window snug and keep the cold from coming through. This is ingenious!! The package is ample and provides enough plastic cover and adhesive for several windows. Duck is a trusted brand and this product is no different than their other stellar tape products. Having absolutely no experience or idea what I was doing, I successfully shrink-wrapped-winterized my window in twenty minutes or less. I will never be without this product to insulate my home for the winter. In one cold night it kept my kiddo’s room at least ten degrees warmer with only one of two windows successfully insulated and no form of heat. Frankly I am amazed!! If you’re not handy, don’t worry. You can do this and with the frigid cold coming, You need this!! This pack was less than twenty bucks and will no doubt make the difference of hundreds of dollars in winter utility/heating bills! ... show more

  • Great for Iowa winters – thick film holds up way better than the cheap stuff! Worth the extra money!
Size: Standard Window - 10 Pack
Iowa is freezing in January, this Duck MAX Strength kit made a real difference on our drafty windows. The heavy-duty film is much better and easier to work with! Covered 8–9 windows easily (62" x 420" roll), installs quickly with the included tape and a hair dryer for a tight, clear shrink. Drafts gone and noticeably keeps our kids rooms warmer! Best window insulation I've used for Midwest winters—great value for the quality! Highly recommend ... show more

  • Good product
Size: Standard Window - 5 Pack
This product does work and its clear so you can easily see through it (unlike the frosty white competitors) BUT: -The instructions on the box don't seem to make sense, it does work but you have to make sure that the window HEIGHT is no taller than the shortest dimension of the film because they have you attach it and roll it across from left to right, then cut the roll off then UNFOLD the film DOWN. Yes I did it, yes it makes sense, no it's not as simple as it seems. -Most people DO NOT install it as seen in this video or on the box instructions because WE HAVE WINDOW SHADES, so if you follow these instructions then you have sealed your window shade in behind the film, so you cannot raise nor lower the shade -So what those of us with window shades do is to apply the tape to the frame of the window so we can still use our shade -Clean clean clean the surface AND THEN cut a piece of tape and see if it sticks properly, my problem was that I had the window balancers serviced some months ago and the window technician sprayed the window groves and rails with SILICONE SPRAY, the problem is that TAPE WILL NOT STICK TO SILICONE so the tape falls off, therefore you should make sure that the tape can stick firmly before you begin -The film is thin so its clear and you can see through it easily which also means that it can tear easily so be careful -The method shown in this video and the instructions on the box are actually super easy to apply because you have plenty of room and don't have to lay the tape precisely, so if you do not have a window shade in the way then using this technique on the outside of the window hole I could probably install this film in less than 5 minutes without breaking a sweat and if you are careful (with a sharp eye) you probably could install it without having to use the blow drier at all -It is worth it, take you time. ... show more

  • Works great
Size: Standard Window - 5 Pack
I had no issues what so ever putting this window insulation kit up! It was very simple as long as you follow the directions. The hair dryer made it air tight and took all the wrinkles out. It has helped so much to keep the cold air out. I’m hoping in the summer it helps keep the hot air out too! It fits my windows perfectly. It was one of the best prices I could find. It’s not cheap material and it has been up for over a month with no tape issues. ... show more

  • Great for keeping warm air in and cold air out!
Size: Standard Window - 10 Pack
We have been using this brand for the past 7-8 years. Easy to set up and you can feel the difference instantly. Came in handy for our NYC apartment windows and for the new house. Current windows are from 1989 and an upgrade is not currently in the budget. We will be using this for years to come. Once the film is installed and you go over it with a hairdryer, so that it shrinks and fits just right, you cannot see it from the outside at all. Very easy to setup, especially since they changed the packaging slightly and now all you have to do is roll out the film. It used to come folded and you would have to really work the heat from the dryer to smooth them out, but now it's even easier! Really helps to keep the warm air in and the cold air out. We no longer have ice buildup on the inside of the windows, when these are installed. ... show more

  • It Works ... But With A LOT of Re-Taping
Size: XL Window/Patio - 2 Pack
Bought 2 kits to cover very drafty windows in a Boston area apartment to keep winter cold air out. NEGATIVES: Our unit has blinds installed and trying to get the film attached and sealed at the top of the window under the blinds (which cannot be removed) was very challenging. Definitely a 2-person job + much profanity. When it's not windy out, the seal works decently to keep the draft out. However, the tape that comes with the kits does not hold well and the plastic film peels away after a couple of weeks. We ended up patch sealing areas with clear packaging tape. Not a great look, but at this point, we're just trying to get it to last the rest of this winter. Next winter, I think we'd try the film again but with different adhesive tape. Too bad Command Strips doesn't have a version of this product. POSITIVES: Once it's installed and you run a dryer over it to shrink the film, it was decently clear. In fact, that's how you know you've heated it/tightened adequately ... the smokiness in the film clears away. It's not like perfect glass, but it's reasonably close. You can still see out of your windows. When the adhesive is working, it does stop drafts. But, like I said, we've had to patch spots multiple times with the packing tape to keep it sealed down. I think this probably would not damage wood, etc. b/c the adhesive is so weak. But, when we peel this packing tape off of it in March, I don't know what the impact will be. A great product in theory, but challenging to install if you have blinds + the adhesive does not hold up. TIP: Don't worry about trying to make the film super tight as you are first attaching it to the window frame. If you make it too tight at first, it will pull away from the window when you apply heat to tighten it. It needs to be a little bit loose to accommodate that tightening. ... show more

  • Amazing! I used it to cover my SUV back window after a tree smashed through it!
Size: Standard Window - 5 Pack
This stuff is AMAZING! A tree fell through my SUV back hatch window during a storm. I needed something to cover the windoe until I could get the time to go get it replaced. Only issue I had was the double sided tape itcame with sucked. I ended up putting strong gorilla tape (same color as my SUV) around the perimeter, which worked great. I didn't think this stuff would last going on the freeway and it stayed put for over 2 weeks with no problems at all. ... show more
