This is really a nice microscope. I had ordered some premade slides to use with this microscope and it really worked perfect. You get 3 different sets of power eyepieces (multipliers) in 10X, 16X, 25X and 4 lenses 4X, 10X, 40X, 100X. A box of 50 Slides and a box of glass covers, mobile phone bracket for taking pictures, USB power cord with power adapter, and a blue tint filter. This plus the microscope all fit into a nice storage/carry bag. The microscope is dual power, runs on 3 AA batteries or using the power block and cord. Really great feature to be able to use this microscope virtually anywhere. The optics are very clear giving you crisp images. The LED adjustable lighting works perfect. Adjustments in the X, Y, and Z axis are fluid and knobs all move easily and hold firmly. Everything you need to get started is included except if wanting to use the 100X lens you will need immersion oil (type A works best) to see using the highest magnification this microscope offers. This is a great microscope to use and explore with your family. Makes for a great outdoor activity finding new things to look at...especially pond and lake water. Always interesting things to find. Highly recommend for all ages...

I’m supposed to give an honest opinion and focus on the product but this requires a little background first. I raise goats and would take a fecal sample to a vet like every 6 weeks at a cost of 7 dollars to find out what parasites they have . Well now the vet requires to see each goat in order to get a fecal done so with 30 goats would cost over 3500 dollars. So got this I was a little hesitant cause it looked hard to set up. This is great set up in 5 minutes simple instructions to follow nothing to figure out. I got a detailed chart off the internet with pictures of all the goats parasites a lot look alike but this really magnified them to see parasites and the eggs so they can be treated with the right wormer. This is really top quality with a soft case to keep it in but I’m leaving mine set up cause it will be used routinely. The sooner a goat can be diagnosed the better it is so I’m so glad to have this and I’m helping out other goat owners with there herd also. Came with everything that was needed to start using including the slides. I’ve never used one like this best I’ve ever seen

I've bought this microscope to help feed my daughter's interest in biology and science. We've also separately purchased a set of prepared slides with a good variety of samples that can be observed under the microscope, and it has been an interesting experience. This is a professional microscope with multiple eye pieces of different strengths. While this model is manual and does not offer any digital connections, the company also has slightly different versions that come with a USB connection or a small LCD screen. For this one, you do get a phone holder that allows you to take pictures using your phone's physical camera. The whole set is pretty sizable and comes in a large carry bag. Therefore, I'll recommend it for folks who have the proper desk space to keep it, or alternatively, does not mind packing, storing and setting up again when needed. Being a professional grade instrument, there's also a lifetime warranty on the microscope. In short, a highly capable technical instrument, provided at an extremely reasonable price, and will likely stay with you for a long time with proper maintenance. This scope easily gets 5 stars from me, and is highly recommended.

For the effort that has went into this unit as a full kit, they could and should have included a dustcover, that's the .05-star reduction. This scope comes in its own case/luggage, and I really appreciate that as I had to walk with it, well over a mile, the handle held up through it. Obviously, this unit is a 'big-boy', real-deal professional model. It comes with a variety of lenses one can change out in a snap, and one can expand on this capacity by purchasing additional ones with higher magnification. I'm pretty sure too, after giving it a good once-over, the head itself could be replaced, preferably with a head that also has digital functions and capacities. This one is actually a step or two up from the ones we used at university and the biology classes. Given that it is the holiday season it is only fair to add that this would be a great gift for the student or scientist in the family, like a telescope - there are many 'kids' who would love such microscope.

I tried to work with it for two hours today. Never could get a clear specimen view, with glasses or without. The cover slips have no instructions and are not intuitive to open that tiny box. I ended up smashing some of it to bits, just trying to get it open. Don't understand why it has all these separate eyepiece lenses. Why aren't they just installed already? This is not like any microscope I ever owned as a student or used in a school lab. I couldn't see anything useful today, but I will update if experience improves it. Where is the 2500x magnification? I don't see anything even close to that.

We homeschool our kids - but once a week we participate in a Coop - where it's like a normal day of public school except with a bunch of homeschool kids - anyway, my wife teaches biology on those coop days and they have microscopes - well - this one is nicer than the ones they have for school. My wife's concern was the power cord because it's not the traditional thick power cord, it has a phone cord sized power cord, thin, 5V kind of power cord - Other than that - we are very pleased with the function of the microscope - the subject being examined does seem to degrade a little with the highest and next to highest magnification level though. the eyepieces swivel nice and slow around for others to take a look at the subject. I'm not a microscope expert, but when my wife the biology teacher is happy, that makes me happy. So that being said, I think this is worth the price of admission, we got the one with the soft case, a hard case comes with the more expensive version, that would have been nice, but oh well.
