Excellent balance for smaller camcorders and go pro cameras. I dont recommend it for a hefty DSLR with a big lens. Even mounted back on the grip, it feels unbalanced. I used one for my camcorder and one for my go pro. A lot of versatility for mounting audi and accessories and really like the female receiver in the mounting screw, so you can add a tripod plate to the bottom easily. Overall great value for the money. Bear in mind these are mostly plastic, so dont rough house them and they should last you a long time. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I mainly purchased this for when I hand hold my Canon 6D. And with that camera, the mic and external light on this rig it seems like it will be too heavy. The all plastic body is light enough for a small GoPro - action camera, but for a big DSLR with light(s) and a mic this thing looks like it will break in two. I loaded up the grip with my Zoom mic, a light and my Canon 6D. It lists to the right where the Canon 6D grip is, that is where the battery is. So, you have to counter balance it. I then took it outside to record the cat to see how steady the cam is. I didn't turn on the light. I was surprised that it held up well. The Canon 6D is a little over 2 lbs. I still feel like I need to be really gentle with it. If it was all carbon I would be game, but instead I may have to return it or keep it for my smaller action camera and purchase an all metal Grip for my Canon 6D. I'll keep testing it around the house. For now, I'll use my tripod & gimbal on the road with the Canon 6D. I rechecked the description and it doesn't say what the material composition is. The seller should upgrade the description so people are aware what they are purchasing. ... show more

This thing is super neat! Can’t wait to use it. Only thing I would add to it would be instructions. I flipped through the product pictures and figured out how each piece works so it’s not that hard to figure out but, it would have been much easier with some instructions.

Doesn’t stabilize, in fact it does the opposite when held from the top of the grip, bounces all over. Catches the wind really bad when on a tripod and that makes the camera bounce even more. Video becomes useless. HOWEVER using this in conjunction with a fake fur microphone wind sock, makes you look ALMOST like legitimate media. With this thing I was granted access to a “media only” area of a race track to record footage for my YouTube channel. Didn’t show anybody any credentials, they just let me walk right by. Also had an influx of people walking up and asking who I’m filming for, which never happened before using the same camera and external mic on their own. Makes you look cool, but doesn’t work. I’d say they’re worth $20 though so no hard feelings over this purchase. Spend real money if you need a stabilizer. ... show more

If you're going to use this with a camera- it's pretty decent. But the cellphone mount broke after a couple uses. I am still not sure what happened to it, but the spring shot out of it and now it won't hold the phone. Exactly 31 days after we got it so I can't return or replace it) I do struggle with the hotshoe too-- it was really hard to get things in there & not twist it all over the place. BUT I really like the handle & quality so I might just buy a different cell phone mount rather than look for a whole new rig. (I don't know if this matters at all-- but full disclosure-- the one I purchased was delivered to the wrong house by Amazon & while I was waiting to be refunded- my mother purchased another one for me on her account. So technically this review is on a different order but identical item from the same seller) ... show more
