The amp was used as a replacement temporarily for a different brand and honestly while I LOVE their mid and full range door speakers however I was not impressed with this particular product. But I still Love DS18 just not their amps

I'm including this update in case anyone in the future happens to be troubleshooting no output out of 1 channel like I was having issues with, maybe my solution will work for you as well: So I originally just moved some channels around, bridged my rears off 1 channel and ran my highs off another amp so that I didn't have to go the weeks without a system that sending the amp back to DS18 for warranty repair would've required. In that time period, I spent a good bit of time on BCAE.com learning about amp internals and also troubleshooting tips, and communicated with the author of the site about my specific issue. It was during my communication with him, when I had the amp taken apart and was photographing the PCB that I discovered that I got voltage on the 3rd channel when playing with the HPF/OFF/LPF switch for that channel. That ended up being the problem, that the switched looked like it was dead in the middle, and even felt like it was right between the left and right, but it was a smidgen too far to one side, which was apparently cutting all output just to my 3rd channel. After putting some contact cleaner on the switches and moving them back & forth 25 or so times, I reinstalled the amp and have been back to full functionality since then. That is now in my list of check-firsts if I run into output issues in the future! End of July Update: pretty much right after I wrote the original review, I lost the 3rd channels output completely. No cutting out or so-so playing, one day i just had no sound out my drivers midbass. The problem was verified to be the amp channel itself by putting the RCAs and speaker wire on a functioning channel and getting playback, then swapping known good RCAs and speaker wire to the 3rd channel, where I got silence. Currently I'm procrastinating dealing with DS18S warranty process just because I'm going to be without music for however long the replacement/repair takes. So far so good with this lil guy. Got it powering my front stage, CDT Audio Unity 8s in the dash and cdt's CL-69Sub's handling my midbass in the doors. The CLs are 2ohms, so I believe this Korean board amp is sending em 250wrms, and the unitys are crossed @400hz, getting 125 or 150wrms. I have 0 complaints about the amp, it does get pretty damn warm though, something to keep in mind for long jam sessions. I'm wondering if I should put the amp on spacers, to keep it away from the other 2 amps in the board, that's on the list of future mods. This is my first piece of equipment from ds18, and so far so good as far as I'm concerned. ... show more
