    • A clever idea for an annoying problem.
I haven't had a chance to use this, because I am assembling pieces for a drywall project in the future, but I think this could end up being helpful. 5 pointers are provided, and they seem quite solid so they won't be breaking quickly. The included instructions could be more specific, but the video is clearer. You stuff the pointer inside the open electrical box, then you jam the drywall over the spike about where you're going to install the piece, and the spike pokes thru the drywall, giving you the center for cutting the opening. This is the trick: how can you hold it and push it in exactly where you're going to install it, when you're not flush with the studs but out at the end of the spike, which protrudes out from the box? The instructions say you should secure the drywall piece in place, but that's impossible until after you jam it through the spike (or else you're installing it without the help of the tool). I think I'd have to cut the hole a bit small to account for placement error, then adjust the hole larger. But I could learn to be pretty close, maybe close enough to be within the difference between the size of the box and the wall plate, and one mistake avoided would be worth the price of this tool. ... show more

As the title says these are game changers for the average diy'er. No more measuring, missing your measurements, needing to measure again, cut again, and add extra mud. Just pop one of these in a single gang box, mark it with the included template, cut it with your Dremel and there you have a perfrct cut. It comes with 5 pokers which should be enough for all of the boxes found in a 4x8 sheet rock area. These will save time, which these days is more valuable than money. What a great value. The tips are strong enough and should penetrate through many sheets. Grab these for your next drywall job! ... show more

I didn't realize I was getting a five pac, sweet. The should work out well for just about everyone. This five-pack should last me a long time since I've already put up 20 sheets of drywall. Using this is more fun than measuring I can tell you that. You'll learn how to line this up after the first goof. Just make sure that spike lines up with the center of the outlet. I don't think they can break but I'm not going to test them to find out. Just take care of it like any other tool and you'll be fine ... show more

If you hang drywall as an amateur, this is the device for you. Sure, professionals can do it without this tool, but I am not a professional. I have hung MANY sheets of drywall over the years and I always measure twice, cut 5 times... It just never worked for me. THIS TOOL SAVES YOU TIME as a DIYer.

Will be installing drywall in my office room add on and these should help me better locate the outlet boxes to cut out the drywall to fit around them. I don't have a lot of experience drywalling and struggled with the last room I remodeled and ended up cutting the holes slightly off causing a lot more tape and mudding to be done to fix it. Actually looking forward to this project now! ... show more
