The umbrella itself is kind of unique in its shape. It's 6 inches longer on one side. The quality of the umbrella seems slightly above average. The size doesn't seem as big as I had expected. It is a manual fold umbrella, and not an automatic open. I would expect an automatic and this value. The carry bag on this umbrella is a huge benefit. It's padded for both comfort and protection. It's easier than most to get the umbrella back in the bag, and the bag should never get lost. ... show more

I live in Florida, so having a quality umbrella is essential. This umbrella is so nice and such good quality. It's just built really well. I had to go outside and collect my daughter from the bus stop in torrential rain and this umbrella didn't budge, didn't go inside out like most umbrellas would. This is really easy to set up and use, and easy to open and close and fold. It includes a crossbody bag which is so nice and well made as well. I liked this umbrella as soon as I opened the package, but realized just how much I valued it when I misplaced it the other day, and was faced with the prospect of having to do without, or purchase another one. Fortunately I found it a few days later, under the folding back of my pick-up passenger side seat. Quality of construction is readily evidenced by the materials, seams, and hardware. opening and closing action is smooth and affirmative, sliding parts don't feel janky at all. The canopy is asymmetrical, with the yellow/green part having a slight overhang. This helps for keeping rain off of someone you're walking beside (or turn it away from them if you don't want to share) or turn it toward the wind to keep more rain away (because rainfall slants, right?) My favorite aspects of this umbrella are how well it handles in a breeze, the wide strap for wrapping around the closed canopy, and especially the carrying bag. It's waterproof, reflective, and substantial enough that it feels like something you want to hang on to and carry around, not just an afterthought. I would gladly pay full price for this (current list $49.99) if I didn't already have one. It holds up well in wind, but you should open it facing into the wind -- I wonder how I know that? Very nice travel umbrella. The front part extends out a little farther for more coverage. Great storage case and easy to deploy/extend. Folds neatly and easily for storage with little effort. My wife really likes this and it has become her go-to umbrella. We haven't had high winds, so I can't speak that that part of stability/wind resistance, but seems durable overall. This Droptop umbrella is larger than a compact travel umbrella and definitely provides enough coverage to keep you dry. I like that the back is longer so it offers additional protection for your shoulders and back. It comes with a case that is lined with cooler type material for wet storage so it doesn't drip all over. The case comes with a strap so you can carry it hands free. While it keeps me dry, my biggest issue is this is a fully manual umbrella which I do not care for. It is not easy to get it fully open/close when getting in/out of the car and I've had it collapse on me when I thought it was open. I feel like it would not be a good fit for anyone with older adutls or those with arthritis or hand issues. Also, with the extension in the back, its hard to get it wrapped tightly so it will fit in the case. It was not easy to get it in and if I have to struggle with it, I will not bother with the case.
