I have wanted to get a drone to start learning how to use a remote control. This unit had a great price point for starting out and I liked how the propellers are protected. I started indoors and bumped walls pretty hard and it was fine. After awhile I went outside and just started flying right in a 20 feet or so proximity and from 1 foot to about 40 feet high. This unit works great and I highly recommend it as a start into your adventure with drones. You can also upgrade to better units with the same manufacturer.

I was really excited to get this. This is our first drone. I thought it'd be fun. But it just won't fly right. We spent forever trying to get it to fly but only once did we actually get it to hover for a few seconds before it suddenly fell down to the floor and a blade flew off (not sure which happened first). After that, we couldn't get a blade to stay on that shaft. Finally, applied a dab of superglue and fixed that issue but it won't fly straight. Even using the auto takeoff button, it won't go up, it'll go forward or some random direction at full speed and crash into something. Even then, you can't get it to shut down. Won't respond to the buttons. We're so frustrated with it at this point that we're about to just throw it away.

Updated review: while I am still very disappointed in the quality of the product I received, I am updating my review to reflect the company's willingness to make it right. They contacted me almost immediately to address my concerns and offered to send me a new drone with the improvements they'd made that directly addressed my stated concerns. Had I not already returned the first one and already purchased a different drone, I would have happily given it a shot. Original post: If I could give zero stars, I would. The camera holder piece broke immediately. BTW, your phone is WAY TOO HEAVY to be supported by the remote. My son got to fly this for about 40 mins total (over 2 days) until it would not take off anymore. The propellers all spin, but it's like it doesn't have the power to lift (this happened with BOTH batteries, both being charged for at least 30 mins). I hoped this would be a good introductory drone.

This is the best entry level Drone that money can buy. I recommend to buy the full bundle instead of the drone alone. You will need at least 3 batteries and the remote control, however if your budget is low you can fly it with your phone in radio of 6 to 8 meters around you via Wi-Fi

Was fantastic before it broke. So I've gotten one of these super low end drones before. The kind that are very cheap, all have apps and little in the way of other features. This however is a step above those. Primarily being the object detection where it tries to prevent it from bumping in to walls etc. The quick takeoff was handy. The fact that is goes in to an extra slow mode with object detection is a great idea. I was excited to show this to my family who were on a vacation when it arrived. It came with 2 batteries that seem okay. It's got a sleek design despite the button on the back being under the housing and impossible to tell it's a button without help. Connecting really was a hassle having to flick a stick every time. All that being said after a tumble or two, i'm not really sure the thing now won't take off one of the rotors doesn't keep firing during takeoff so it never leaves the groud. I'll likely try it again soon before I dump it but otherwise it had a lot of potential.

This drone is a good starter drone for a kid because it is pretty easy to use. Depending on how good you are at flying this will determine its durability - it will handle some crashes, but this isn't meant for any heavy duty work. For what it is, this drone is a decent value for the money.

To be pretty blunt, this drone is pretty disappointing to me. At the price point I expect it should be an entry level, beginner friendly drone that's pretty straightforward and easy to use. Unfortunately that wasn't really my experience. I had a difficult time getting the standalone controller to pair with the drone. Had to follow the procedure several times to finally get it to connect. Once connected, and turning both the drone and controller on, pushing the takeoff button only seemed to get a response once every 5 or 6 presses. Once it did get in the air it was very difficult to control. I did manage to get it to fly around and started to get the hang of it and fly around my back yard, and then the battery died, seemed like it was only flying for about 4 or 5 minutes before it came crashing down. While it was flying the instructions say that if you let go of both thumbsticks it should hover stationary - well that didnt happen. It would constantly drift. I couldn't figure out how to take pictures with just the standalone controller, but I could move the camera up and down. It does have a download able app, which I also tried. It allows you to see what the drone sees from the camera POV and also take pictures and control the drone directly in the app. Using the app was the only way I could find to actually take pictures. When using the app to control the drone I had an instance where the drone just took off and flew away on its own. It went up about 30-35 feet and took a right hand turn and flew over my house and out of the wifi connection range to my phone and landed on my roof. Very annoying and not reassuring. In the end, when it works it's sub-par. When it doesn't its flying away and landing on roofs requiring ladders to be retrieved. Disappointing and probably won't use it much.
