Wobbles?

I took it out. I put it on the toilet. I tightened the front "crank" thing and - oh why is it wobbling? I still don't know. I sat on it. No wobbling when sat on. Okay good enough. Removed and will be put back on after hip replacement. But - why is it wobbling?

I love it! It just dont fit

I love the toilet riser, it arrived on schedule and it was easy to assemble however! It was tightened to capacity yet it still caused my 92 yr old mom to slip off! She’s FINE! THANK GOODNESS! 🙏what did I do wrong and why it does not fit snugged?

Very sturdy and well made!!

It was an easy install. Just one nob to turn to tighten it. Doesn’t move around over time, it stays where you lock it down. The hand grips are nice with the padding. No wiggle or wobble from the grips or the seat itself. Very lightweight, but super sturdy!! I hate cleaning it because feces splashes on the backside once it hits the water from so high up. Cleaning is a necessary evil though….so I clean mine every couple of days so it doesn’t get gross. I had hip surgery and this thing helped me out a LOT as my toilet is older and really low to the ground. If you have a walker that you no longer need to use to walk, you CAN slide the walker up to the toilet with this seat still installed to raise your side grips if you are tall. I’m 5’11” so using the walker side grips works better for me than the seat grips because I’m taller. I didn’t think the walker would slide all the way up to the toilet with the seat in place, but it did with no issues.

Dangerous!! Don't risk it!

Worthless POS of a scam! The negative comments about the fit and ability are 100% accurate! What's even more irritating is when you stick it in the toilet bowl, and you turn the lock towards the lock symbol, or icon, it doesn't tighten to the bowl, it does the exact opposite. So now you have to remove it and turn it to the unlock symbol and see that it is locking. I can't attest to any other toilet seat risers but this one made by a so-called reputable company that makes tons of DME is a failure! This is supposed to be a device to make using the restroom easier for those who might have a disability whether temporarily or permanently, go to the restroom. This device could seriously cause an injury! I'm sure they got out of any type of responsibility, because they state in there one page instruction manual to not favor one side over the other but to sit and push off centered. Drive medical, why would you even risk people getting injured because poor design!? How many of these have been returned that you might not be able to use because it's now a biohazard? It just seems like something that should not be sold any longer, and they need to go back to the drawing board and do better! Or manufacture and distribute these parts in America! Maybe it's a way to create injuries so people end up in the hospital and then they have to use your respiratory line of equipment? Got to keep bringing in that money huh?

Too high installed on a comfort height toilet - I'm 5'4" and it's Edith Ann height for me

This 3 star review just pertains to my specific situation, but here goes: I am a 5'4", 135 lb, female who just had a hip replacement. Our current toilets are all "comfort height" (~17"h) but it was recommended that I get a raised toilet seat with handle assists to help during my recovery. I bought this based on the ease of installation and the Drive reputation. We'd already had the need to purchase assist products for our parents in the past, and the Drive brand was always very reputable and of great quality. The quality of this is of true Drive standards. Strong, sturdy, well made and very easy to install. What didn't work though, is that adding 5 inches of height to our 17" high comfort height toilets means that my feet don't even touch the floor. This raised seat adds too much height which was even more painful for my new hip, than sitting on just the toilet without it. Truly, I felt like Edith Ann (if you're of a certain age, you know what I'm talking about) with my feet swinging off the floor. In addition, it's not clear in the photos, but the opening of this riser is quite a bit smaller than the full opening of the toilet without it. The seat part is very bulbous and that cuts down on the opening size by quite a bit. At the risk of TMI, a normal seat sort of cradles your behind, but because the seat area of this one is much larger, it feels like you're just sitting on a hard plastic seat. Ours is an elongated toilet and the opening that this riser has is even smaller than a round toilet opening. We also have a hand held bidet spray connected to our toilet and this smaller opening would not be conducive to using the spray either. The last thing to mention is that the look of this (even tho it's not meant to be a permanent seat) is very "institutional". It just looks like a seat that a care/rehab facility would have on their toilets. I will shop for another riser in the 3" inch height range. Hoping to find one that is just as easy to install with assist handles too. If your toilet is lower and not already of comfort height, then this may work for you. If you're in the 6' +/- height range, then this might also work for you. Unfortunately, it did not work for me. * * update: check this one out. This is the one I decided on. It's a 3" riser, looks and feels like a regular seat, and is just as easy to install. Good product, but it could use some improvements

I like the Drive Medical Raised Toilet Seat with Arm Rests. However, I would add two additional tie-grippers to the raised toilet seat. One tie-gripper to each side of raised toilet seat just like the one that is on the front end. This would keep the seat steady and level when one arm rest is employed, accidentally. Also, I would like the front end of the product to have about one inch more clearance so that men could have more clearance when voiding their bladders. Hopefully, Drive Medical Depot will upgrade their raised toilet seats with arm rests or someone else will.
