I had high hopes for this little piece of equipment. Unfortunately, NONE of the three hand drills I own could be made to fit into the collar in order to use this drill press stand. The device was well made and sturdy and I have no doubt that it works as advertised with the correct drill.

Very little power. Use pristinely sharp bits or this drill press is a bust. Stops dead. My 10.5ah Makita mini handheld cordless drill has more balls. I’m using this for a very small/light wood working project that requires a 3/8” hole that must be plumb and consistent , Otherwise this would be returned immediately. ... show more

I just realized that I was charged 15.99 shipping plus tax totaling over 30 dollers the item cost 14.99 and it turned out to be useless for me, I decided to return the item, of which I'm to pay shipping 11.99 I get the feeling I'm being screwed. This drill press came with a keyed drill chuck, but I wanted a keyless chuck. Asked seller what taper the spindle has, seller promptly replied "B-12". I ordered a keyless chuck for a B-12 spindle taper. I used this wedge set: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HHJN25X?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 to remove the keyed chuck, then installed this keyless chuck: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FRZDY8DC?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 This upgrade made this little press much more convenient to operate. The variable speed motor is a real bonus. In addition to electronic variable speed control, this machine also has step pulleys under the cover that provide three speed ranges. This provides excellent versatility that is a nice extra considering the price of this machine. I saw another review where the buyer complained the motor lacked enough torque to drill through wood. The drill press I received has more than enough torque to drill both wood and metal without difficulty so long as the correct speed range and operator technique ("peck" drilling, frequently clear chips with a chip brush, use cutting oil for drilling metal) are used along with properly sharpened twist drills. The machine operates very smoothly, does not stall or bind, and does everything one could reasonably ask of a machine of this size and price. I purchased this on sale for only $35. At this price, this drill press is an absolutely outstanding value for the money. I am extremely pleased with this purchase and would not hesitate to highly recommend it to others. ... show more
