This is such a great option at a good price. Easy to put together, with clear instructions. We did add a couple small pavers on inside and we have to keep a couple bricks on roof to keep it from opening in wind. We often get 30+ mph wind and structure is sturdy enough with the pavers inside not to move. Ours is used as a shelter for whoever needs it if animals unable to get into barn. Cats, geese, chickens, and turkeys all make use of it. I would consider getting a second one. Impressed with quality for price, material looks nice and has held up well. This dog house was SUPER easy to put together. It is a thinner plastic than I was prepared for, so I hope my 2 yo, 70# huskey pup does not chew it to pieces. I think the price is high for the thin plastic, but we'll see.

Really nice strong doghouse. It is a little lighter than I imagined. The roof opens and stays open as long as you need. My dogs are interested but scared to go in so far. They are peeing on the corner meaning they claimed it as theirs. I thought it came with a door cover but it didn't so make sure to order one. I like the ventilation slots. I put one of their beds in it so they will figure it out. Hubby must have thought it was easy to assemble, it did not take him long to put it together and no complaints. This is absolutely perfect as a thunderdome for my corgi mix puppies! It's super spacious, and even full grown they will be able to both crawl in and snuggle. It was shipped super fast, arrived undamaged (thankfully) and a breeze to put together. The hardware for the lifting roof was simple to assemble (just small screws) and feels great when you open and close it. Obviously for a plastic dog house, its not meant for hard core chewers, kids who want to slam the lid opened and closed playing peek-a-boo, or for you to send your hubby into when he's in trouble. Although a small person could for sure hop in and hide to prank you, so ... always keep em guessing and stay alert! I bought this house over others for the modern look, easy assembly, and lightweight design so I could easily assemble in the drive way and lift onto the small front porch of the dog kingdom. As someone who has bought half thier life's purchases through Amazon, this is one of my favorite pet purchases I've made!!! ... show more

On the good side, this is a nice big sized dog house. It assembled easily in about 10 minutes and is easy to move into position. It will be a good house inside the kennel for summer. Very well ventilated. On the con side; it's just plastic. while it won't rot in humid conditions, it is most definitely NOT the right dog house for a cold climate and use in winter. Frankly, here in Minnesota this dog house would never meet the legal requirements for winter use. But it will get us through the summer and give us time to build a new insulated, raised one. All in all it's a little pricey for the quality but as I said, it will be ok for occasional use this summer while we work on a new permanent house. I'm going to screen the vents and add a dog door. The roof IS reinforced well and she will be able to jump up and sit on top when she wants, too. If you want a basic shelter for a warmer climate that snaps together easily and won't rot, this is fine for that. But don't buy t thinking it will offer any winter protection in cold weather. ... show more
