This is a great headset for a specific use. This is a great way to enter the VR world of combat WW2 dogfighting. Think of it as Quest 2 video quality with zero lag, and the headset is super light. I cannot comment on controller use because I do not use them, I play in the seated position using a full HOTAS, with KB and mouse. This is fine for long sessions of rapid head movement, with no neck fatigue. If this had pancake lens, it would be the perfect headset. DPVR are you listening? I wasted $600 on this thing. I bought this because it is the same spec as a Quest 2. My logic: it is lower resolution so it should be light on the PC. That means it will run well, and setup should be easier than enabling Quest link for PCVR. It isn't. The software UI is ok but the display mode switching while plugging in the headsets breaks OBS. It's near impossible to plug the headset in during a livestream. You would need to do all the setup before the stream. Room detection worked ok, maybe 60% of the time. The worst issue by far is the stutter / frame pacing issue that was present during my American Truck Sim sessions. VR was smooth, but graphics would skip 10-15 frames every few seconds. The headset did stay cool although the fan in the headset can get annoying. At this price, it's one of if not the most expensive, lower resolution headsets on the market.     • It will work for a month and then start presenting it's issues to you.

Positives: Amazing visuals and fantastic stero overlap, provides a fantastic sense of presence and when it works, it's smooth as heck. Negitives: extremely poor build quality that does not take longevity of product into account. It WILL overheat, making removal of the front plate nessasary to keep it alive. I didn't do this and my device is now unusable. Manufacturing return window is one week, customer support is incompetent at solving issues. ... show more

So.. I had the original one with the brick in the cable... Before I complain about the new cable.. let me at least mention the good stuff about the performance increase as is a bit more stable. I only play PCVR so not needing wifi and all that stuff is a plus to just plug and play. So far, I only have had to reset the play space when the computer was turned off.. The older version was like every other day. But that new cable connection is awkward and I'm not at all sure why they did it this way... It's 5 inches away from the actual headset, and about the size of a lego.. why in the world they didn't just stick it on the headset is beyond me. It still gets snagged n everything if you sitting while playing.. not everyone stands while playing. They never show images of this part... so by now so we all know they think it's stupid too. This company has been around for how long and they still can't figure this out???? I can't recommend this to anyone who only goes in VR sitting as the chord is awkward and heavy, and cuz it's pieced together, there's always a twist.. 2 stars for the tiny upgrade in PC performance and -3 for why is this chord still an issue? ... show more
