i’m generally not a fan of this pillow. it is cooling, but not by much. the “chemical smell” the “instructions” state will go away after a few hours, hasn’t, and this was delivered and unboxed 2 weeks ago. i’ve washed the outer cover, which made no difference. the smell is either coming from the foam interior or the interior case (which can be washed, i guess, so long as you secure a place for the foam interior to rest in the interim as the latter cannot be machine-washed (which is lame). This isn’t even worth returning, and I already bid adieu to my last pillow as a feral toddler in my house saw fit to drag it up and down the hallway, all over carpets, and allowed the cat to use it as a bed. This isn’t to say all memory foam and/or “cooling” pillows are bad; just… stay away from this one. Especially if sleep is, ya know, like… important to you. **UPDATE: 2/9/2022** —DROPPING FROM 3 STARS TO 1 STAR— contacted downluxe “support” a few days ago via email regarding the chemical smell, asking for a replacement or alternate product directly through them instead of amazon (benefit of the doubt for their company) and this is the final response i got from them after contesting that nearly a full month has passed after opening the product, airing it out, exposing it to sunlight, washing/drying the outer cover multiple times — they even said to ”spread the pillow in the sun or dryer it for a little while” — AND they recommended spraying it with PERFUME. PERFUME. perfume would mask the CHEMICAL SMELL, not actually take care of it. that’s just more crap that i’d be breathing in at night. no thank you. the icing on the cake is the final email i got from them: “Hi, I'm sorry that we have no other way to help you, or you can try to spray some perfume on the pillow. Downluxe” yeah — not buying from this vendor ever again, and while ymmv, i recommend that you steer clear from this vendor as well. fortunately i have another week and change left in the return window. thanks, amazon. ... show more

This pillow does not support your head on t neck at all. I followed the instructions and did not pay on it for 24 hours. The pillow didn’t fluff up like usual memory foam. This one stayed pretty flat. Got a little fluff but over all flat. Need to buy 3 for it to feel like one pillow. Waste of money.

First I know a lot of the reviews are complaining about the smell but I think it is just the condensed foam and I found the once it expanded the smell was gone. Second the instructions just said to lay it out for 2-3 hours un-wrapped and it would expand but mine did not. I had to open up the pillow 2 zippers and break apart all the foam which was in a giant clump from being rolled up and packed in a box. Took a good 20 minutes. but now the pillow i awesome even ordered another for my sister. I only lowered the scored one for the trouble in unpacking which I would not of minded but that is was not in the instructions. ... show more

I only bought this one because I didn't have a discount code for a MyPillow pillow. Has a very strong mildew smell that most people wouldn't deal with but since I threw out my former pillow the morning before this was delivered I had no choice. The pillow cover is also very slippery so the pillow case constantly slips off. Not recommended. ... show more

The pillow feels great and the cooling side is very good. However, mine has a horrible smell that will not go away - like mildew. I cannot use it and I am very disappointed
