This film is very thick. It works well at keeping my sun facing office cooler by reflecting about 70% of the sunlight back outside, allowing me to see outside during the day. At night, however, there is one irritating property of this film... I can't see out, but those outside can see in. In theory, if the blinds were open, at night I could have someone literally standing outside my window with a bowl of popcorn and a drink watching what is going on inside, and I'd never know they were there. This is a good product, but this is one glaring weakness that I'm guessing most people will not get. It works by making the side of the glass getting the most light into a one way mirror. Daytime - I can see out and no one can see in, Nighttime - anyone can see in, but I cannot see out. This is not just a window tint, it is a reflector as well. It is a good deal for the price, it applies fairly easily, and clings to the window well, but the way it reflects is the one bit of info is what one would need to be aware of to determine whether this is for them or not. ... show more

This worked well just as described, easy install, I didn't have a spray bottle as recommended but I just wiped down the window with a wet paper towel and it applied fine, then used a credit card to smooth out any bubbles and excess water. PLEASE NOTE: Be sure to measure your windows to select the correct size of window film - I didn't (I just assumed my windows were a standard size, and that's my bad) so it didn't fit the entire pane, however I was able to cut to size to fill the remaining gap. I was very careful cutting and placing the additional strip of film so its mostly unnoticeable unless you look very closely, but it was a pain and I'd recommend getting the correct size the first time. The reason I selected this one-way window film is because I recently got a clear window-mounted bird feeder, but when I came too close to the window I would startle the birds. This film is just reflective enough during the daytime that the birds don't see me at all, even when I sit right next to the window. I selected the silver option, as it is light enough to see through easily, but please note this film does not give privacy at night (when it is dark outside, people can still easily see inside through this film, so use curtains as needed). ... show more

    • Great product & easy installation

Helps to cool the room without a doubt. My toilet area is a closed off room for privacy in a large bathroom & has an east facing window. It gets warm and so put this film on the window and the little room is no longer as warm as it used to get, there's a noticeable change in the temperature. The installation was very easy as I only had to make two cuts the middle & side as the window measured almost 18 inches, that little almost 1/2 inch shortage is no big deal whatsoever. Installation was a breeze; as it's still hot out here & water evaporated quickly when I wet the whole window at once, so little by little I did one spritz with the spray bottle on both window & film and pressed the film to window, repeated as I went bottom to top and done! For me, bottom to top made it easier to control the film, spray and placement. I had done the first one top to bottom then tried bottom to top for 2nd window and found that way much easier to control every aspect of installation. All the best & God bless. ... show more

This mirror film works great for reducing light and for privacy during in the day! But be aware that at night with the lights on you won’t be able to see out of your window but other people can see into your window- whichever side has more light on it will reflect like a mirror- this is how any 2 way mirror works. So just remember to pull your curtains if you don’t want people to be able to see in at night. In the picture I have attached, the window is incompletely covered (i did not cut it exactly to size by accident, but that is actually good for a review picture) but that can help to see the difference: the left side of the picture is with the mirror film helping to block the neighbor’s incorrectly aimed spotlight, and the lower right hand corner shows the part of the window that is not covered-so you can see how the film makes things a little fuzzy. However I haven’t found any mirror film that looks any different, so think the tiny metal particles which create the 2-way mirror effect will always reduce clarity a bit (unlike a tinted but not mirrored film than can just use dye molecules and not metal for a mirror.) I think this works great for what I wanted, and is good for blocking bright lights at night from either neighbors or street lamps while still allowing you to see out of the window during the day (and at night if your lights are off as in the pic) It sticks well to any window when it is cool to warm/hot weather. But on really cold nights in the winter it sometimes peels off my windows and then won’t stick back on- at those temperatures even a new piece will not stick, so it hasn’t lost its stickiness, it just doesn’t work on very cold glass. However— I have loose single-pane windows in wooden frames in a house built in the 1890s that let in strong enough drafts to blow the curtains around even when the window is as fully closed as it can get (am renting so can’t replace the windows). I bet in any modern double-pane window the cold would not be an issue and the mirror film would stick fine all year round. ... show more

I really like the privacy this window film provides. Except at night, as you'll want to draw some shades for privacy. I had never used a product like this, and was a little nervous. I wasn't worried about the size, as I was going to cut for smaller windows. I basically used the film to test it and see if I wanted to purchase larger sheets. Instillation was easy, but you will need something to smooth out bubbles, like a bank card. Also a spray bottle and cutting tool. I really like this product. I will be ordering larger sheets. After I measure my windows,, that is. :) ... show more
