Nice quality set. Carrying pouch is annoying.

Supplied with an acceptable canvas-like bag and tie string, this set of pliers is a useful addition to toolboxes when you don't already own a complement of pliers. No complaints about this set, priced well considering the size of the tongue-and-groove and adjustable wrench provided. But you need to think about your typical needs. You might not need what's provided here. Unlike screwdrivers, which can wear down surprisingly quickly if the metal isn't good, pliers usually hold up over time. Wear on the gripping surface isn't typically a problem. PRO - The needle nose, combo lineman, cutting pliers have clipping surfaces included. - The storage "belt" is durable - Good price point per tool (if you need them all) -Steel quality feels OK on initial testing CON -For my uses, a longer needle nose would be preferable COMMENTS What's missing from this particular collection and when should you keep looking? Not a complaint / compliment about this collection, but these are questions you may ask yourself: - Is the long nose long enough? I would have liked a longer one for my purposes. - Is the adjustable wrench large enough? There's a large range between this wrench's diameter handling and a pipe wrench (sheer mass as well as width). For large nuts / bolts, this one might be too small, depending on your need. - The tongue-and-groove pliers have a similar consideration to the adjustable wrench. It also might not be long enough for the leverage you need -- again, depending on the application.

I absolutely love the grips on these pliers. They shipped quickly and were packaged well and I like the roll up case which Tied closed. I love the bright yellow, I will be able to find when I am cleaning up and putting away my tools. Very nice gift for him or her

Great set of tools for quick repairs or modifications w/o retrieving the full toolkit. I keep them in the storage area of the backseat of the F-250 for quick repairs and modifications.

Everything in this 5-piece set is sturdy, the plastic handle grips are comfortable and thick. The adjustable wrench and pliers are stable as I set them, and the simpler tools have no looseness at all. I've only given the big adjustable pliers real work so far, loosening a shower head. The locking mechanism is a little different than others I've used, slightly fiddly to lock into one of the settings. But once set, it holds the position perfectly, never a need to re-set until I was done and closing them up. The adjustable wrench did well on a couple of loose bolt tests I did, and has a small feature I've not had on other crescent wrenches before - a mm sizing guide. The canvas bag is thick but rolls the set up into a tidy bundle. The grommets allow for hanging on a couple of hooks, but I think I like having the bundle to grab all of these at once, and having them all pocketed and padded so I don't have to worry as much about scratching or dirtying a counter or other work-adjacent surface.

Recently, I lost some tools, and had to replace them. When I found this, it had four of the five tools that I was exactly looking for - everything except the last cutter on the right - so it was an easy choice for me. Upon receiving them, there is no reason not to give these a five star rating. Every tool is sturdy and functions as it should. It comes with a soft pouch that you wrap over for storage. It doesn't exactly fold into a neat shape as the tools come in different shapes and sizes, but it's decent enough, since it collects them all into one place for storage inside your toolbox or drawer. Five tools for about $25 - that comes out to $5 per tool - so this is a great value. Thumbs up from me.

I've been doing some improvements to my office condo and it made sense to have a basic set of tools there rather than transporting them back and forth from my home. The first thing you notice about this set from Dowell is the weight...it is substantial. These are not the lightweight tools that come with your typical homeowner kits. The next thing you notice are the handles. They are also substantial and fit the hand well. Everything comes in a very nice storage pouch. I have no issue with the materials or finish of these tools after you factor in the cost. Are these as nicely made as a name brand $100 set? Probably not. Are they perfectly adequate for the average homeowner doing the occasional odd job? Yes. The adjusting mechanism on 10-Inch Groove Joint Pliers does feel a bit odd to me, but I have no issues with any of the other four tools. For the average homeowner, this is a nice set of pliers that will serve you well.
