Let me start off by saying this is the best mask I’ve ever found for my problem skin. I have been using this product for several years now, which is why I'm finally reviewing it. My skin is the annoying trifecta of oily, acne prone, AND sensitive. If a product isn’t making me break out because it’s clogging my pores, it’s making me break out because my skin is allergic to it. The first few months I used this mask, I wasn’t overly impressed with it, until I discovered I wasn’t using it enough. The trick for me was to use it at least 3 times a week as part of my skincare routine. (I also leave it on longer than recommended, usually 20-30 minutes, for a little extra loosening of clogged pores) Suddenly, I started seeing a massive difference in the quality and texture of my skin. I ordered a few of these, even though they’re absurdly overpriced, my only complaint is some of them would come dried out, and it would take several days to remix the crème.

    • Good Product, But You Need More
I have three issues to address that I consider important for consumers to know. Here they are: 1.- The little spatula that Cetaphil provides is a worthless toy that does not allows to efficiently apply the mask. An efficient way to apply the mask is with your index finger. Making circles as you apply it allows the mask to get deeper inside the skin's pores to do its job more effectively. 2.- Cetaphil does not specify if the mask is to be applied to dry or wet skin. The first day, I am in the shower and I applied the mask to a wet skin. It did not work at all! The water on my face diluted the mask which couldn't do a good job. The second day, I am still in the shower but the water is not running. I patted my face dry with a towel before I applied the mask. What a difference! Even when my skin was damp, the mask did not dilute and went to do its intended job. Immediately after, I put on a robe and I walked out of the shower to do things around the house. 3.- Twenty minutes later, or so, I came back to the shower and ~with plenty of water running~ I removed the mask. Once out of the shower, I follow with 'Neutrogena Oil-Free Cleanser with 2% Salicylic Acid' to allow the cleanser remove pore-clogging impurities that the mask may have left behind inside the pores. After another very good rinse, I follow up with 'Neutrogena Hydro Boost Face Serum with Hyaluronic Acid.' I am not a woman. I am a man. I do not have Beauty Routines. Instead, I use knowledge acquired from reputable sources and I add a good dose of common sense using the products that I mentioned all of which are available here at Amazon. Maybe, my acquired knowledge, my experience, and common sense help you as much as they help me 'not look old' when I am face-to-face with my readers in Book Signing Events. ... show more

What is this sorcery? It's been a little while since I purchased this simply because I forgot how great it is. I get cystic acne on occasion and glycolic peels and retinol had been keeping my skin perfect until about a month ago. First my forehead was covered in little acne bumps and I tried some of the traditional acne treatments and the little bumps went away but the cystic acne came back in full force. After no success with masks designed for acne I came back to this. My skin texture improved after the first use and now after using it 3 times within a week or so my cystic acne is reducing dramatically. I don't know what it is about this product, but it is so gentle, scent free and really instantly gives you a glow. I'll leave it on for 15-20 minutes if I have the time and my skin never gets dried out. If you want to generally clarify your skin, this is the product for you. This review is for the Cetaphil Clay Mask Pro, DermaControl Purifying Clay Face Mask with Bentonite Clay. I have used this product five times and have noticeable, positive results. I am 55 years old and I have dry, very sensitive skin with large pores and this clay mask has not caused any irritation of any kind. It's helping to draw out the buildup in my pores and is bringing new life to my skin. I do offer a reminder that when using any product to draw out impurities in your skin, you will most likely experience whiteheads or at least red splotches for a while, so plan accordingly. ... show more
