I absolutely love these pads but I believe I got an older model not their new model it is completely flat across the back with zero withers give at all which can be workable if you have a horse with not super high withers but if you have a TB or warm blood which are known to have high Withers I don’t recommend this pad for them ... show more

UPDATE: I loved the blue pad I got and ordered burgundy for my other mare. Not at all impressed with the new pad. Not quilted, merely has diamond stitching on it. Does not fit well to the horse (as you can see the top like sticking way off the horse’s back). Extremely disappointed. Would’ve expected some consistency in the product since they were not purchased too far from each other. (Note I cut the straps off since I never use them) ORIGINAL REVIEW: I color-coordinate my horses and this is a beautiful saddle pad! This pad is made with a nice quilt and sturdy fabric, but unfortunately the shape is too straight for the back and it ends up showing some noticeable large pleats on the back of my legs when I ride my 17-hand horse. I don't know why companies offer pads that sit so badly on a horse...pads need a curve to follow the back properly. ... show more

Dover is a name I associate with quality horse equipment. This pad was for a birthday gift and was well-received. It felt like it would protect the horse well, while not interfering with the "feel" necessary between rider and horse.
