Just not what I was expecting. I’ve had better. Thought it would have had more on the roll, wasn’t very sticky but I will make do with it instead of having a hassle of returning.

    • Strong and versatile silicone tape
I got this tape specifically to use for holding a rug to our hardwood floors because the thing had kind of become a death hazard with how easily it moved. I wanted a material and adhesive that would not leave residue and that was easily removable. I've used adhesive products on rugs before and some have left nasty marks on my hardwood floors. This silicon tape fit the bill perfectly. It comes on a roll with clear plastic as a backer and without any kind of dispenser. I sued a scissors to cut it, though I found that you need to be pretty careful. If the tap sticks to the side of the role for any reason it can be really hard to remove without wrecking the rest of the tape on the roll. If it sticks to itself it can be permanent. On smooth surfaces, however, this tape is amazing. It's kind of like the foam tape used for Command Strips by Scotch; if you peel up and edge and stretch it, the adhesive will release. The tape is even technically reusable. For my application, it worked amazingly. The carpet in question had a solid back for the tape to adhere to. I put sections of tape on the floor along the corners, dropped the carpet on it and pressed sown to get it stuck in place. That carpet has not moved an inch since I taped it down. I assume this tape would work on walls as well if needed with decent load bearing properties similar to a command strip. Definitely worth a look if you have an application similar to mine. ... show more

It is nothing like the original double sided tape. For one thing, this acrylic tape is relatively thick at about 1 mm. Also, this tape is very flexible, feels gooey to the touch and is very sticky. I performed some testing with a small piece of this tape. It appears to be able to stick to literally any dry and clean surface. Although it can be removed from the surface, I found that it was difficult to remove all of it from certain metal surfaces. Note that it shouldn’t be used on a surface which can be damaged if the tape is removed (e.g. flat painted drywall). I was able to hang a light object with just a few very small pieces of tape. Supposedly, two inches of this tape is capable of hanging 3 pounds. I have also found that this tape is very useful to keep throw or area rugs from moving or keeping the corners down by attaching a 2 inch piece of tape to each corner. A few criticisms… This tape does NOT come in holder/dispenser which would really help from keeping the tape roll from sticking to the surface when placing it down. This tape is packaged on the roll with only one side having a backing. When cutting a piece off the roll with scissors, they tend to stick to the side without the backing and can get very messy. I found it is helpful prior to cutting the tape to first apply a piece of the backing material to the side that doesn’t have the backing. In this way the scissors will not stick to the tape. Overall, I think this is an amazing tape that can be used for a variety of applications such as mounting objects to a flat surface, adhering two objects, etc. ... show more
