Our super strong HitLights Double Sided Foam Tape is perfect for outdoor installations, or any other difficult to mount surfaces such as stone, concrete, unfinished wood, or any time an LED light strip will be installed upside down or on an overhead surface.The double-sided, industrial-strength foam tape is thicker and stickier than standard adhesive tape and will make for a more permanent and reliable installation, particularly in exterior applications where extreme, waterproof sticking is needed.Installation:Clean the surface you intend to stick the light strip to unroll the foam tape. Press and hold the foam tape firmly against the surface.Remove the protective tape from the strip. Press and hold your item firmly against the tape. Your item is now installed. Application Guidelines:Ideal tape application is accomplished when temperature is between 70° and 100°F (21° and 38°C) and the bond is allowed to dwell 72 hours.Initial tape application to surfaces at temperatures below 50°F (10°C) is not recommended.Specifications:Width: 0.39inch, Thickness: 0.025inch, Length: 33ft.     • Perfect For Resticking LED Light Strips

I bought this tape to restick some outdoor LED light strips that had gotten unsticky in places. It works exactly as I had hoped. It's thin, fairly easy to apply, and adheres well. The only problem I had at all was the red backing is a bit hard to get a hold of, but once you are able to separate a tiny section, it comes right off. I ended up using my Tweezerman tweezers to grab it, which helped. Update: I'm not changing my rating on this tape, but wanted to come back and leave a cautionary note. While it does adhere very well, as stated above, it it EXTREMELY difficult to remove, which obviously I didn't find out until much later. This could be because I used it outdoors and the heat caused it to stick badly, or it could be that it adheres so well that it's just very difficult to remove, I'm not sure. So just be careful where you use it, and make sure it's not on something that you may want to remove it from later. ... show more

All right, well, there are star ratings for "adhesion" and "easy to remove". Hard to really see why these are separate, since with an exception of Command strips, the two are pretty much mutually exclusive. That said, this tape sticks like hell. Good if you want it to stay there forever, not so great if you, well, don't! Or if you make a mistake in placement. Definitely not recommended to put this on a painted surface. It'll rip the paint right off if you try removing it. Yikes. But it sticks! ... show more

The tape that came with my light strip sucked and I've had Scotch tape holding it up (but not well, it was hanging on the end where it plugs in). I removed the light strip and pulled the tape off it then cleaned where I wanted it with 90% iso alcohol. Then I marked where the strip would end with a pencil. I went around with the tape, pushing and holding it in spots. I cut it near the end but peeled up the red cover at the end before cutting. I waited an hour after applying it to the wall to give it time to set like you do with command strips. Then I peeled off the tape and stuck my light strip on. I applied some more to the power part of the light strip and stuck it to the Wall to keep it out of sight. It hasn't fallen off and looks so much better. I definitely recommend this tape. Just make sure to clean where you're applying it so there's no dirt. ... show more

I bought this so that i could get my LED strip lights to stay in place for longer than 15 minutes without falling down. Even though the strips came with a 3M adhesive, they were obviously low quality (what do you expect i got them from Walmart for $4.88 per pack!) Needless to say, this tape has held them in place since i applied it, about a month in now and not even once has it fallen from its spot. If you need a good quality adhesive to hang led light strips then look no further and get this. ... show more

I used this to attack some solar panel (polycarbonate sheet) to the interior of my garage windows for an air cushion, the tape is strong so I knew it would probably hold on its own despite how thin it is which I needed because I added a strut piece too but I cut a very small hole on a silicone tube and siliconed the panels on as well for extra strength and weather sealing, I couldn’t be happier with this product! ... show more

The product works great! But I have spent up 15 minutes trying to get the dang red backing off the back! Here is how I do it now and it only takes about ten seconds: - It is best to sit at a desk or at a countertop so you can concentrate and get all the tape pieces done in one easy batch. - Cut off a 1-1/2 piece - Fold it so it is red on both sides and has about 1/4" to 3/8" of adhesive exposed. I call this my "handle" - Cut a piece about 3/4" longer than you need and place on your project. Rub it in well. That's your "Project" piece - Take your "Handle" and stick it to your the extra bit on your "project" piece with about a 1/4" overlap. Squeeze them together tightly so it bonds well. - Now you just pull slightly on your "handle" as you poke under the red edge with a razor knife. you'll find it much easier to separate. - Cut off the project piece at the right length with the razor knife. Leave a "tab" of red backing to later use to get the backing off. - Save the handle for the next tape point on your project. - When you are ready to place your project, it only takes you seconds to pull off all the backing. No flustration, what-so-ever! ... show more

Great set of lights at a great price! I am a Prime member so I received the LED strip lights in 2 days. I used them to add a little pizzazz to my band's equipment, specifically the speakers, bass drum and my mic stand. They are very bright and really cool looking. The adhesive backing that comes already on the lights are pretty worthless so I would suggest getting a better double-sided tape. I bought the roll that Hit Lights sells which is a 32 ft roll and much stronger. I also bought several inline rgb controllers and power supplies so that we can get the color changing effect. The strips are clearly marked where they can be cut. At one point I had a technical question so I emailed Hitlights. They got right back to me with an answer which I always appreciate. All in all, I love these lights and I'm looking for more ways to use them not only for my band but in my house. ... show more
