This bunk set is very nice. The wood is extremely sturdy. I however opted not to put them together as bunk beds. My kids wanted to keep them separate. Would suggest this set to anyone looking for bunk beds.

This is a very nice set of beds, well made and sturdy. You will need 2 people to assemble it, some parts have to be held together while screws and such are put into place, pay attention to each step of directions and you should be fine getting it done, has a lot of bigger pieces. another reason 2 people are needed, I also like the fact that the beds can be completely separated to make 2 standalone beds. if you decide to do that later ... show more

My husband was basically able to assemble the whole thing in a little more than a few hours with me helping hold a few pieces a couple of times assembling the frame but he is really good & doing handy work around the house. He was actually pleased with the quality & sturdiness for the price (he was skeptical when I initially ordered the bed) We did have to cut a thin piece of plywood to fit on top of the top & bottom slats to reinforce. I don’t think even a coiled mattress would have worked very well on the top bunk without extra support, slats or a bunkie board. I would have rated this a 5 if it wasn't for that & they didn’t do the best job packing it for shipping & one of the ladder legs got a pretty good ding in it. Other than that there was really only 1 other small blemish on the paint. All pieces fit together well & seems like it’s going to work great in our sons room! These bunk beds are great quality for the price! I was impressed with how quickly they got here also. The only complaint I have is that not everything is labeled. The slats for the headboard & putting the headboards/ footboards together were the hardest parts for us. It took us a hour just to get those together! After we got those together, the rest was super easy & went really quick. Tip: have a ratchet & a star bit adapter. It makes it so much quicker! ... show more

    • Looks nice but the odor is overwhelming

I am really disappointed in this. I will say the quality is great, it was fairly easy to assemble and it looks nice. A couple pieces did come damaged but useable. However, the smell is so overpowering and has left us all with headaches. We haven't let our kids sleep in it and have kept windows open and fans on, but days later it is still awful. At this point I don't know if we will ever be able to let anyone sleep in it. I wish I would have gone with something else. ... show more
