  • Great!
Wowsers! What a great DC read for the DC Multiversity! Intertwined so in such a delicate and savory fashion! A must read for any DC Multiversity fan.

  • Unique Mash Up
I’m a Watchman fan and came into this without any knowledge that this collection would be integrated with the DC multiverse. An impressive retcon of content, characters and calamities plus an encyclopedic balancing of worlds past, present and future. Purists of the Watchman universe may find fault with this mashup- and I’m not sure they’re wrong in that Alan Moore would probably once again restate his anger/ ambivalence over how his work has been maligned. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Is it a Watchman sequel? Of sorts - but it is a triumph of story balancing and plate spinning I am in awe of. ... show more

A great sequel to watchman and just a great stand alone DC event and high quality story that everyone should read.

  • Much Better Than The Terrible Prequels!
“Doomsday Clock” takes on a near-impossible task and manages to succeed on several fronts. First, it creates an intelligent and plausible crossover story that preserves the character of all the individuals from both worlds. Second, it builds a “Watchmen” sequel that — while not an equal to the matchless original — nevertheless approaches it in quality. (Here it also avoids the pitfall of the mostly reprehensible “Before Watchmen” prequel disaster: Magnifying the original’s violence and sexuality to ridiculous proportions instead of investing the effort to match its depth and quality. Note that “Dr. Manhattan,” “Ozymandias,” and “Dollar Bill” are the only prequels worth a look.) Also, while not matching the depth of “Watchmen” there are some deep undercurrents in “Doomsday Clock” that will have you flipping back and forth to make all the connections. Lastly, this story incorporates a satisfying twist toward the end, and wraps things up in a way that is sure to please DC fans. One note is that a good familiarity with the DC universe is a big help in understanding the storyline, but not necessary. This is a “must-read” for “Watchmen” fans, and a satisfying crossover tale for DC followers. ... show more

  • Rebirth Conclusion
This story gets way too much hate. It is a really great Dr. Manhattan and Superman story. It takes the elements from Watchmen and introduces what would happen if you add the rest of DC in. Mainly Superman, being the main point of interest. Great read.

  • Doomsday versus Hope
Amazing contribution to the WATCHMEN legacy and it's existence in the D.C universe. It was an epic read and adds another layer to the beloved characters.

  • Doomsday Clock A Great Story
I find myself reading a lot more these days, and a lot of it is to escape the despair of the actual world. Doomsday Clock's success in my reading of it is that it doesn't exactly let me do that. By drawing on real world situations for the characters then to mirror with their own crises, the book allows me all the thrill of reading to escape while keeping me grounded at the same time, contemplative. Nicely done! ... show more
