I was torn between plastic crate or this metal crate and I am glad I got this metal crate. I don't like plastic crate because my yorkie likes to chew specially plastic thing she sees and I am afraid she will chew the plastic crate and she get a hold of a lose screw when she chew the crate. I bought it for when we go on vacation for my yorkie. She had a metal crate before but was way too big and she did good on the metal crate before. This 30 inch works great because I want her to have a bed, pee pad and small bowl to fit in the crate. This is the perfect size. For this reasons, smaller crate may not be ideal. 30 inch is perfect for small dog. I am ordering another one so she has the same crate when we go out of state and my relative will keep the crate ready for her. Only square small bed is ideal for this crate. I got her the hexagon shape bed and it is too big. One plus about this crate, it comes with cover. I am sure she will love this crate. It seems sturdy and good quality. My relative suggested I get a bigger metal crate for my 17 month Dutch Shepherd Pitbull rescue pup Unfortunately he’s a rescue and is a huge escape artist if a set up isn’t secured with reinforcements he head buts his way out and takes a hold of anything he can get a way with ( his treats I use to clam him down before I step out to go to work or take out the garbage outside, his dental hygiene treats , etc , ) 😭😭 , I came home and he got into a lot of treats .. Long story short this two door metal crate is a life saver , grateful that it’s delivered with Amazon logistics, as an item that I’ve purchased about two years ago was a little bit bigger than this item is delivered via another third party , and they don’t have access to my complex, This item took about 20 minutes for me to install as i was trying to be as quiet as I could with downstairs neighbors. Followed the video and was a quick set up after the first two initial steps. Kennel is sturdy , roomy enough for Dustin to stand up and stretch a little bit , it’s a great investment and value as it’s very secure, I’ve also reinforced his kennel along the door bolts with leash clasp hooks just in case . ... show more

    • Easy to assemble! Love the Canvas cover!

I found the video very helpful for assembly although it was pretty easy. The only downside is I wish they had put the handle on top of the crate as it does makes no sense, once you assemble the crate that the handle ends up on the bottom of the crate except when it’s folded up! I love the canvas like covering that rolls up creating a see theu window makes the crate look less like a barren cage. It’s sturdy but not super sturdy and easy to roll from one room to another. I got the 30 inch so my small Shorkie has more room to move around in her crate and she loves the space. She’s also already crate trained and I heard the smaller one was too small and don’t want her to feel like she was in a crate but more like a cozy resting place. I bought a 30 inch pillow that fits nicely inside along with her snuggle puppy and blanket. ... show more

The carrier is of sturdy construction and the cover is snug and made of a quality material! The 30" is a perfect size for my Shih Poo puppy, The step up in size from the smallest gives him a little room to move around when I'm gone for a short time.

Easy to set up. Beware that the bottom of this crate is the removable tray. There's no grate on the bottom. Your pet is sitting in the tray that they may pee and poop on. Otherwise, it's a well made product.
