Fabulous 👌 sounds great easy setup

[EDIT 2026-01-06] updated to 4 stars since although the product malfunctioned, the customer service team reached out to me and offered multiple ways to resolve the issue on their own without my reaching out to them first. I was impressed with their honest attempt to troubleshoot and take other measures to try and resolve the issue. [original review] I had the DED-200 Max and “upgraded” to the 300X and it feels like a serious downgrade. While the build quality still feels very high, the performance is FAR worse than the 200 Max I had. It doesn’t register half of the hits, it’s VERY inconsistent in the hit force that is registered. 98% of the time the sound is far too low and then suddenly you’ll get a hit that is bizarrely loud. These feel like genuine junk compared to the 200 Max kit. I wish I’d just kept the 200 Max. I thought the 300X would serve me better with the control panel that can hold my phone and the extra crash symbol but I’ve basically stopped playing since getting this set because it’s such a horrible experience.

I’m extremely disappointed with the Donner DED-300X Electronic Drum Set. The overall volume is very low, even when everything is maxed out. On top of that, there’s a noticeable sound delay that makes playing feel completely off and unresponsive. The cymbals are especially bad — they barely make any noise and feel lifeless, which defeats the purpose of an electronic kit meant for practice or performance. I double-checked settings, cables, and headphones, and the issues are clearly with the kit itself. For the price, I expected much better quality and responsiveness from Donner. This set was a huge letdown and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable or realistic electronic drum kit.

A really nice sounding and playing kit. I am impressed by all that this kit offers and it is a really good value. The drum sounds and samplers are really good. You get hundreds and hundreds of really good sounds ranging from acoustic and synthetic. The dynamics are really good for an electronic sound module. The unit has 100 different sounding drums kits and other sounds. Built in mixer to make your kit sounds the way you want it to. The pads are dual trigger and have a nice feel to them. Very playable and easy to get use to. The cymbal pads do as well. Nice stands and easy setup. The sound module/controller has a slot for a tablet to sit on like the iPad. I have used other name brand electronic kit and Donner is in that same class. I think these are one of the best values for a complete kit. The more you play them and tune them into your style the more you like them.

This was easy to setup and looks great. Everything works well except I’ve noticed the hi hat does not always make a consistent sound even if you are hitting it consistently. Sometimes it hits loud and others so soft you can’t hear it. Pretty disappointing. I got a new wiring kit and that did not help so idk what else to do.
