The quality on this was amazing compared to every other piece of furniture I have ever ordered and assembled. I typically get about 5-6 extra of every screw and bracket (and you need them because they break and are garbage). This bed only included 1 extra of a few pieces and exactly what was needed for the rest but that was absolutely fine because the quality of the screws and bolts was very high compared to other prefab stuff I've put together for my wife and kids over the years. Needless to say Donco manufactures a far superior product. Well Done! Oh and the pieces are labeled in order... who would have ever thought to do that!! I usually follow the manual and I'm looking for page G-N or part X-F or part M on step 2 and part A and B on step 5, that always seemed silly to me. With Donco it was Step 1) parts 01, 02, 03, 04 Step 2) parts 05, 06, 07, 08 Step 3) parts 09 and 10 Step 4) parts 11 and 12 ... and so on. It actually made sense, and was extremely logical... who would have ever thought to do it that way! Haha just kidding but after all the chinese made junk over the years this was a pleasure to put together for my 3 and 6 year old. Well made DONCO, well done! The bunk bed arrived in 3 very large boxes, one was a behemoth in size and weight. This lone female dragged them all up two flights of stairs (outdoors and indoors). So it’s a challenge, but doable. Unpacking was straightforward and everything was in perfect condition despite a few dents in the boxes. The finish is gorgeous-a lovely gray color with a whitewashed finish on smooth bark textured wood. While one very determined person could possibly put it together themselves, two people make it a lot easier (I read the very easy instructions while hubby did most of the work, and I occasionally held opposite ends up and helped align). It took a couple hours-we started at dinner and had it together in time for our girls to sleep on it. There was one major misalignment in one of the last pieces (a board was glued on about an inch too low in the back support piece), but hubby’s determination saved the day. Having a drill handy also helped with a few holes. All in all, it’s the perfect bunk, super fun and trendy for the bedroom of both girls and boys, and it was a decent price! (Near $600 from the seller I picked on Amazon-the cheapest option). Love it!! ... show more

This bed is better then I expected prior to reading reviews, and just as most reviews say. The quality is great, solid wood pieces and the color is a rich gray brown so it will pretty much match anything. It comes in a lot of pieces so it feels daunting unpacking the boxes, but each piece is numbered so if you place them in order then it'll be easier to find each piece. The only thing we had any trouble with was the roof. Miscommunication on our part overall, but just be careful because there are no guidelines as to where you set each of the four large pieces so just make sure it's all lined up with your own preference in mind. It did take one person (with a second helping here and there) about 4 hours total, and a few pieces required a bit of adjusting or force to fit, but overall great bed for price. Just a side note: it is not the easiest to crawl in and out of the bottom bunk as an adult because if you notice there are four poles going across the front. If you are a larger person or might have a hard time crawling through smaller spaces in general then this might be a problem. I went from a pack and play straight to this bunk bed so lots of crawling for me, but it's worth it for the great design! ... show more

The bed is amazing. It’s sturdy, easy to put together, heavy since it is solid wood, but, as other said it’s sticky! I had it airing out outside for two weeks. After all the wildfires in California with unhealthy air, I may have gotten a bit over the top, but additional chemicals in my kid’s room was not an option. I buried stinkiest parts in baking soda and wiped few times with vinegar as suggested online. It did the trick, worked for most of the parts. All was left just a wood smell. But had to reach out to the seller as two parts were not usable after all the treatments. My kid was begging me to keep the bed, so I was ready to cover exchange shipping costs. The seller was great! Exchanged with no extra charge, and in a matter of days so we could start putting it together. We have air quality monitors in every room, and they are not registering any VOCs. Plus, activated carbon air purifiers running all day due to wildfires. As I mentioned before, the bed is well made and worth every penny. The finish is very detailed and unique. I wish I had one when I was a kid! ... show more

My kids love this bed. It's very sturdy and well made. The shipping was fast. The only issue was the two of the smaller pieces were missing. This bed is really nice and sturdy when it's put together. It comes with slats for two beds, or you can leave the bottom ones out and have a play area. Instructions were easy to follow, and I was able to assemble the whole thing myself. The only small negative is that it's a little tricky to slip an already sleeping child into the top bunk. The bottom rung of our ladder was broken by that very reason, but no worries! I contacted the company through Amazon messages to see if I could purchase a replacement, and they immediately shipped out the piece I needed at no cost to me. The bed is great. Customer service was great. Just get it! ... show more
