My first wood purchase from Amazon and I'm very happy with it. The quality of the wood was excellent, the wood was perfectly straight and not warped at all and the cuts were precise and very straight. The quality of the wood made it a joy to work with compared to stuff that I buy locally. The difference in color of the wood didn't look as dramatic as in the photos. But once I put some finish on the wood the colors really popped and the difference was clear. If you're looking for wood for a project then I would definitely recommend this. The big "box store" lumber yards (you know who I mean) stock these hard woods but generally at 1 1/2" x 7/8" and not as clean cut and cost more. For home shop picture frames and cutting and cheese boards surprisingly this is a better and less expensive ways to go. Just make sure you check to see what you are getting. They have snuck some poplar by me inter-mixed with the maple. ... show more
