It's billed as "insulated", which is not true. And I can't say I know if it's actually weatherproof because I keep it under a porch, next to 2 walls, specifically to keep it out of weather, but it goes together like rain wouldn't come in. I purchased this as a brumation spot for my desert tortoise, and I'm very happy with it. I like that it is lifted off the ground directly. I think it's pretty sturdy as well. But I actually insulated it myself. I purchased the foam boards from HD, slid my torso inside, and got to work. Then I laid insulation boards on the outside and taped them together, so the temp inside stays more consistent day/night. I really like that there are vent holes at the top. My tortoise is inside, underneath some blanket layers, hibernating away. I also bought separately, the plastic flaps for the door front. The insulation piece I pushed up in front of the door is easily removed, and I sometimes open that (at night when it's dark and cool) and check on him. It's working out perfectly.
