As a complete newbie to trumpet, I have to say, I'm pretty pleased with this plastic pocket one. It's light weight, very easy to hold and it definitely fits the budget of a beginner like me (or anyone looking for an inexpensive extra trumpet for travel or fun). After watching a couple youtube videos for trumpet beginners and practicing for a while, I can actually make some notes through it that don't horrify my own ears! And the sound quality seems good for plastic. I mean, it sounds like a trumpet to me. Overall, it seems very nicely made and it comes with 2 extra piston valves, 2 mouth pieces and a carrying/storage case. One thing it didn't come with, though, is any instruction at all for lubrication or cleaning. I had to search the internet for what type of oil to use on plastic trumpet valves (FYI: synthetic was the answer).

The media could not be loaded. It's extremely lightweight. Not a burden or strain to hold at all and hasn't tired my arms out. The plastic weight to it, that it doesn't feel flimsy or awkward to hold, despite its lightness. It still has enough weight to it to feel balanced. It comes with 2 very strong plastic mouthpieces that are simple and easy to put in and take out. They securely fit on the body of the trumpet, and I've had no problems with looseness. All of the spokes press smoothly down and come back up naturally. It's not a chore to press the spokes. The package comes with 2 additional replacement spokes. Like the mouthpieces, they come in a separate bag. There's also a nice quality carry bag that comes with the package. The trumpet fits comfortably in either of the two relatively spacious pockets. Both have zippers. Both zippers work without a hitch. Everything from the trumpet to the bag look very sharp and chic. No fingerprints pick up and smudge on the body. The mouthpieces, which are clear, look foggy from condensation clearly after playing, and are also easy to clean. As far as the sound goes—I'm a beginner trumpet player (and other than junior high band decades ago) with no real experience playing notes, but I do know how to blow and hold the trumpet and how to blow. Regardless of key position (which I started to look up post-review video) the sounds seem synthetic? Not the bold sounds that I expected. Some more along the lines of what I expected more than others I suppose. Nonetheless I like it a lot and it's a fun beginner's trumpet. The current list price of $69.34 is a fitting value. I just wish it came in pink!!

The Dolphin trumpet is an interesting toy but not an effective alternative to an actual trumpet. It is fun to play with and is an amusing toy but the intonation, plastic mouthpiece and valve operation are not realistic musical instrument quality. This would be a fantastic toy to give to your 10 year old nephew to drive his parents crazy but it is not as advertised in the listing as having ‘a Perfect timbre, Accurate intonation, Very direct response, Full sound and More endurance’. Again, as a toy, this is a lot of fun, but that is all it is in this case. Recommended as a toy but not a serious musical instrument.

Okay, a “pocket trumpet”! I recently picked up an inexpensive beginner's trumpet, and have begun to learn my way around the trumpet and the methods required to play it. I have not spent too much time with it yet, but am beginning to figure out the best method for playing, and how to articulate notes. This plastic pocket trumpet is a bit harder to play, and I was not able to really get a good resonance out of it. The pocket trumpet comes with a couple small plastic mouth pieces, which are different from the metal ones on a standard trumpet, and not as nice of a tone. When pressing the valves down, the notes did not seem to change when I tried playing it? I’m not sure if this is a defective unit, but it does not play at all near how the beginners trumpet I have. So, with this direct comparison, as a new trumpet player, I would definitely recommend a trumpet that is metal or composite, with metal mouth piece. I am a newb, and just learning.

This is the coolest mini pocket trumpet I could ever imagine. It's so well built, and there's nothing that's been left undone. If you know how to play a trumpet, you should know what to look for and all the parts that removed to clean it and to maintain it for a long period of time. What's extra specials it actually comes with two mouthpieces! What an incredible mini trumpet, especially for the price. What I really love about it is it's great for young kids learning how to play instruments, it's real light and easy to manage. It comes in a small bag and it's easy to transport. What a great product!

I played trombone in school but always wanted to try the trumpet, so I picked up the PAMPET DOLPHIN Pocket Trumpet. The design is clever and fun to use. It’s plastic, so it won’t match the tone or feel of a brass instrument, but it’s a solid starter for learning the basics. The two included mouthpieces are a nice bonus. Now I just have to hope the neighbors forgive the noise while I practice in the living room.
