    • Works well in my pool
I own a rectangular 18x36 gunite pool with steps at one end and tile trim around the edges. Once of the steps extends as an 8 ft long shelf. My pool grades for around 4' in depth at the shallow end to a diving well area that is around 9' in depth. The Dolphin CC Plus will clean my pool remarkably well in a 2 hour period. I thought about getting the less expensive cleaner for pools up to 33' in length, but decided against that and bought the more expensive CC Plus that is recommended for pools up to 50'. Without question, I have a lot of extra cord length but that's OK. I like that the CC Plus has a feature on the 60' long cable that keeps it tangle free. I've had the unit for around 3 months. I only use it in my pool once every week. It did get stuck on my steps once, but that was no big deal to me. It goes back and forth and gets itself out of all kinds of situations. It is far better than the Polaris that I previously owned. This unit occasionally misses a leaf over its 2 hour cleaning cycle, but that is easy enough for me to pick up with a long pole and a net. I am impressed with the ability of this unit to thoroughly clean my pool. It does a great job and will pick up clumps of leaves and small twigs. It's worth mentioning that my pool doesn't usually get super dirty over the course of a week. If one wasn't satisfied how well it cleans in 2 hours, then it is simple enough to run it for another 2 hours by pressing the start button on the controller again. Once the cleaner is finished I can easily pull it to the side of the pool. The cleaner floats easily to the side of the pool when you rein in the cable. The cleaner is initially heavy (feels like 15 lbs to me) when it is filled with water. Once I pull it through the water to the side of the pool I lift it about 6" to the edge of the pool using the cleaner's large easy-to-grab handle. You will need to hold it at the edge of the pool for around 20 seconds or so to drain water out of it. Once that is done, it is much lighter and easy to carry away from the edge. It is easy to remove the filter baskets and wash them clean. They slide right back in with ease. I am a 67 year old guy in reasonably good shape and it is not difficult for me to move the unit around. I would highly recommend getting the optional caddy. It provides a place to store the unit when not in use in a way that protects the "soft" rollers on the bottom of the unit from being compressed. The caddy has a place for the unit where the rollers are elevated and not pressing against anything. It also allows a place to store the controller. It is easy to keep the water-resistant (but not waterproof) controller out of the rain between uses since the caddy comes with a waterproof cover. I roll up the floating cable and set it beside the caddy on my deck. The optional caddy was expensive but worth buying. I ran a 50' extension cable from an outlet on the side of my house to the caddy which i keep outside at all times around midway down the length of my pool. I have no problem recommending this unit. It works great in my pool. The cleaner along with the control unit stays on the caddy at the side of my pool at all times when I am not using the unit. ... show more

    • SO AMAZING-THROW THE POLARIS OUT!!!
I went thru 2 Polaris pool cleaners- horrible! Was about to start paying for someone to clean my pool - SO much $$$$!! Got the Dolphin and it is SO GREAT!!! Keeps my pool sparkling clean and climbs the walls like it has to! I wish I had gotten it 2 years ago, but whatever.... Now I know!!!!!

This is my third Dolphin pool cleaner. The first two lasted about five years each, which I’m ok with, I used at least once weekly, (sometimes twice.). This model, though not cheap, is the least expensive one I have owned with fewer features ( like no remote) but it does a great job—even at the waterline. I never used the remote on the previous model. Easy to clean after use— just pull out two cartridges and rinse of the filter panels. It takes less than two minutes to clean. Bought this item one year ago today. Maybe one of the best investments I’ve made for the pool. I live in Arizona and run it about two or three times a week. It climbs the walls and runs along the water line doing a great job. I was paying a pool cleaning company $80 a month to come once a week to do a half baked job. Only one item to mention is that when cleaning is done it’s a bit heavy to get out of the pool because it’s full of water. Don’t know if my wife could lift it out of the pool. Now it has been fourteen months since purchase and unit has stopped working. Still under warranty so I got approval and brought it to Dolphin repair shop in Tempe AZ . They found the motor bad and did a replacement, tested it and said all was okay. After getting back home I put unit in pool and it ran for a few minutes and died. Dolphin repair shop apologized and thought they had fixed the problem and that it had tested okay. So another trip to repair shop for more repairs. I was worried about spending much for a pool vacuum. It turned out to be money well spent. The vacuum covers the entire pool during the 2 hour run time, including the walls and a long the water line. The only issue is it does sometimes get stuck on the steps so I have to check on it every 10 to 20 minutes. The filters are big enough to pick up a few leaves and still trap the fine dirt. Why did I wait so long? We’ve had our in ground pool for about 15 years now and I finally broke down and bought me a dolphin!! Boy am I glad I did. This thing is so easy to use, just plug it in, drop it in the pool, crack open a cold one and let it work it’s magic! I am amazed every time I pull it out to clean the filters on how much this thing cleaned from my pool. My Dolphin even climbs the walls. I would have never guessed by looking that my pool was that dirty. If you are even slightly interested in purchasing one, do it! Well worth the money and time saved. I will never get back all those years of making sure my deep drain return valve was shut so I would have enough suction, getting 30 feet of hose out, hooking it up to a vacuum head that attached to a telescopic pole (that always got stuck) and filling the hose with water to get all the air out of the line and dragging it under water to hook it into the return. Only to use it for about 15 minutes and suction is to low so I have to backwash and rinse. Well, no more wasted time. I totally love this thing and will always have one. Hopefully this thing lasts for years to come. Go do yourself a favor and make a purchase you won’t regret! ... show more
