  • Excellent Product When Soil Is Sufficiently Dry
Color: 4 Plugs Coring Aerator
This is a good product that works as advertised. It is crucial that the lawn have the correct moisture level. My first attempt resulted in at least one clogged barrel every time I sunk the aerator into the turf. And once a barrel gets clogged I found it more likely to clog again, even after removing the clog. very frustrating. I waited a day to let the soil dry some more and had slightly better results. I waited another two days and today my lawn finally dried sufficiently. I used the device for an hour and had only two clogs. Not surprisingly, both clogs were in the same barrel. Also, it helps to wear good sturdy work boots, not flip-flops, sandals, or sneakers, when using your foot to assist sinking the aerator into the ground. And the heavier you are the better. I weigh 165 pounds and I wore a 40lb weight vest, and I could sink the barrels into the turf fairly easily. Of course the density of your soil and lawn are going to affect this. Two more things: When clearing clogs be sure to keep your hand away from the other end of the barrel or you risk shoving the clearing tool into your flesh. (No. I did not do that to myself, but it is a risk.) And thoroughly clean and dry the barrels before putting the aerator away. ... show more

  • Excellent coring tool, Works Awesome
Color: 3 Plugs Coring Aerator with Storage Tray
This manual coring aerator tool is well built and works awesome. I received it today and took it out immediately and did about 100 sq ft of my back yard...and it does exactly what it is supposed to. It shoots out 3 small little lawnturds, each time you step down on it. The coring spikes are made of thick stainless steel. This tool will come in really handy next year with the hot spots in my lawn i seem to have every year, where the soil gets super contacted and compacted ... show more

  • Worth the Money
Color: 3 Plugs Coring Aerator
The three prong aerator is built sturdily and looks like it should last forever. Just one small manufacturing detail; the steel prong part is attached to the handle with two screws (which is just fine), but when screwed as tight as the screws will go, it doesn't completely mate up to the handle. It hasn't affected the performance, and I hope it doesn't become a fail point. It does function like it's supposed to and is easy to use. I recommend this product. ... show more

  • Works Great!
Color: 4 Plugs Coring Aerator
This worked great for me. I have about 1600 ft.² lawn. I used a bucket of water and I would clean it out after about 30 to 40 steps. I kept an eye on the core to make sure they were feeding out of the core hole whenever I saw one of the holes stopped working I would stop and clean out with the provided tool. If I kept using it with one of them clogged up, it would impact so badly inside the tube that it would be very hard to get out. I would have to use a rag to push down through to get the impacted clay off the sides of the steel tube. If you keep the steel tubes nice and clean, it works like a charm but as soon as you get impacted clay, sticking to the sides, you have to stop and get that clay off to get it back working. Keeping the bucket of water to dunk it in makes a difference. I was pulling anywhere from an inch and a half to 3 inch cores and it did better than a walk behind plug machine for me. I have about 4 inches of black topsoil mixed in with some clay so this worked like a charm. It took me about 2 hours. The soil needs to be semi moist but not muddy or over wet so it’s really best suited for lawns that have a topsoil of at least an inch to 4 inches. It takes a little work some thought and a method and the results are pretty good. ... show more

  • Excellent
Color: 4 Plugs Coring Aerator
Works great! Easy to assemble, only two Phillip screws. Very sturdy. It clogged up a few times, yet the tool included was able to push the dirt plugs through.

  • Could be better with some design improvements
Color: 4 Plugs Coring Aerator
I have been using a corona yard butler tool and it works great, but it only takes out two plugs per step. I saw this one and thought it would get the yard done faster because it takes out 4 plugs per step. It is well built and pretty solid, but it doesn’t go as deep into the soil as the corona tool. I really think if the area where I step down with my foot was flat(like the corona tool) instead of a rounded tube it would be a lot easier to get good leverage to push it into the ground better. I also feel the extra leverage would allow the took to go completely into the ground for maximum plug depth. I know the soil must also be just so, not too wet, not too dry, Currently my soil is just right for aeration and the corona tool has no issues. This tool I do have to rock it side to side to get it as deep as possible into the soil, but if the foot step area was flat instead of a rounded tube I could easily step on it and go. It goes into the soil just fine, it just only goes 2 inches in because I can’t get good leverage on that rolled tube with my foot. I’m tempted to flatten it out myself, but the manufacturer real should change the design to make a flat area for stepping on. ... show more

  • It works
Color: 4 Plugs Coring Aerator
It does what it’s supposed to do, just as described. It’s good value for the money but I’ll do my due diligence to keep it from rusting, I don’t want to count on it to not rust. It’s sturdy and I like the cleaning tool that comes with it. I wish it had a way to hold the cleaning tool, like an attached clamp - for that I wish I could give it 4.5 stars because I’ll definitely loose the tool. ... show more

  • Very sturdy and useful tool
Color: 4 Plugs Coring Aerator
The tool needs a bit assembly but it is well made. This type of arreatation tool is better than those with pins/nails as it creates a hole in the lawn to increase air circulation, instead of compressing soil. One pro tip is to water the lawn before digging, otherwise it is going to be hard. One complaint I have is that the bar is not wide enough, for me it is not possible to put both feet on it, sometimes only one foot with the full body weight to push the tool hurts. ... show more
