We have a very tiny dog that needs a place to “go” during the hard winter days so this helps with the wind. We had a similar one but the top ripped after one winter. Now even though I don’t think this is rated for snow, we just had 60 mph winds and this stayed in place after freezing rain and 6” of snow in like a day. So it is definitely weather proof! Idk if it will last all winter or if we will get cracking, but so far it is much more durable than anything else, especially for the price. Now assembling it was no tools which was great and easy up until the end with the final posts getting the cover on, which other reviews talk about- yes it is very hard to stretch out and we were frustrated for sure, but it does come together either way w little a lot of effort. Pinned it to the ground and now it’s perfect for her. Because it’s so stable and a good size for our purpose it was worth the struggle for assembly and honestly only took about 20 minutes plus the extra oomph to get the last two cover poles together. ... show more

I bought this dog shade shelter to give my pup a comfortable place to relax outside, and it’s been a big hit! He took to it right away and now uses it daily to hide from the sun and heat. I placed some grass turf underneath for extra comfort, and it made a big difference—he lounges in there for hours. The structure is lightweight but sturdy, and setup was quick. One thing to note: the included ground spikes aren’t great for hard dirt or rocky soil. I ended up using tent weights instead, which worked perfectly and added extra stability. Made with quality materials and easy to assemble. My durables LOVE them. I have one over their raised outside bed and one at the entrance to their 2 room dog house, makes it look like a fancy hotel. I would like to suggest making it taller to go over taller dog condos.
