We purchased this cat house for a stray 6ish month old kitten that’s been coming around. It was easy to assemble in about 10-15 minutes with a screwdriver, and all the pre drilled holes lined up great. For the first few days after I put it on our porch, I left the front “gate” open for kitty cat to get used to it. I also put her food dish right inside the open gate so she would be forced to partially go in the house to eat. I also had purchased a heating pad to go inside. She started using the house immediately. After a few days, i trimmed the plastic strips on the door closest to the gate to about 2” ( see pic), and closed the gate. We have already reached single digit temps here at night, so I wanted her to get used to going into the house through the small door fairly quickly. That night I peaked out with a flashlight, and she was inside, all cozy. My heart feels better knowing that she has a warm place to go! The things I love about this house are 1. the gate at the end as I think it helped to get kitty cat used to going inside a lot quicker. 2. The ease of putting it together 3. The look! It’s adorable! 4. That it’s raised off the ground and the legs have leveling feet. 5. The bubble window. I have found kitty cat looking out the window often. However, if it wasn’t on a covered porch, it would need some weatherproofing to keep it from leaking from snow or rain. I initially put the loft platform in the house, which is located right above the gate opening end. However, I quickly realized kitty cat wouldn’t be able to sit up and take a bath with it there, so I took it out. Also, I did leave the full plastic strips on the back door opening, and she is fine with them. Overall, I am very pleased with this house!

Update- the company reached out to me and they were super helpful and quick to replace the cracked window. I am happy that they contacted me, now my cat is happy with his perfect house! Sometimes Amazon customer service doesn’t understand the request and it’s impossible not to get frustrated with them when they give runarounds. As soon as you open the box, check the window. If it’s cracked, return the entire house right away! Just opened the package and noticed that the window is cracked. It is impossible to communicate with an Amazon representative to get a replacement. It’s like they don’t understand what you are talking about and end the chat for no reason. And there is no option for me to send the seller an email for a replacement. So frustrating! Not sure how the house will hold up with the weather, but it rains a lot around here and with a cracked window I’m sure water will get in. Not so hard to put together if using an electric drill, and do not screw it to hard or it will crack the wood. Smells funny when taken out of the box, but leave it out for a day or two and it will go away. I can’t return it now cause I put insulation inside due to hot n rainy weather.

A bit small, big enough for 1 cat at a time. Fairly easy to assemble. Latch is rusting after leas than a month outside. I like the way it has 2 separate entrances so the cat doesn’t feel trapped… its why i chose this one.

This is a great little house for the feral cat or cats. You may have nearby. It gives them a place to stay dry. We did try to use this to catch them and get them neutered. However they escaped even though we tried to close off the window partially with Wood those little Houdini were able to get out, I also got bit twice but that’s another story ha ha anyways this is a great house. Don’t use it to try to catch the kitties and get them spayed though it doesn’t work lol

We love the "house" we got for our cats. We have it on a covered porch so it is kept out of the weather, however, I assume it would be great even if it wasn't on a covered porch. It is sturdy and was fairly easy to put together. Our cats also love walking up on top of it. :-)

So, I bought this house for a cat who's taken too much of a liking to marking territory inside our home and now gets to live outdoors. But unless the "side door" (which is meant for cleaning) is open, there's no way either of my large cats would or could use the intended doors for this house. The construction is okay - the side door arrived splintered, so I needed to fix it when putting the house together, and only after it was assembled (and I insulated it) did I realize that it was way too small for my guys, and it would have been a huge hassle to disassemble and return. Wouldn't buy again. If your cats are remotely large, get a dog house.

Awful!!! The 1st one arrived with broken pieces. Returned it and ordered a 2nd one. That one also arrived with broken pieces. The product was packaged very well with styrofoam and paper. It was NOT broken during shipping. It is just a very cheap item.

I couldn't have asked for one thing to be better. It was easy to unpack and assemble, well constructed and designed. I may order another depending on the cats using this one. I can't build anything this nice for the price.
