  • Winter Storm Usable for Small Dog House Winter Storm Usable for Small Dog House
Color: grey-l
Great heater!!! I was very skeptical about this at first but the heater worked better than I thought it would. The dog loves the heater and is toasty when I have checked on him. It was bigger than I thought it would be but that is how I wanted it anyways. It came with instructions to follow which made it easier to install. Great buy in my opinion! Update: My dog made it through winter storm fern with this heater! I checked up on him and his dog house was nice and toasty when I went out. He did not get burned from the heater and he tended to sit right under it. Not only is it good for regular cold weather but has been able to make it though a winter storm when the power is going on. ... show more

  • The girls stayed warm.
Color: grey-l
Used for my chicken coop and it kept my girls warm during the winter. It does have an auto shut off when the temp gets to a certain point and I used it all winter so very reliable. Installation was a pain in the butt however but i anchored it high on a wall so we didn't have to worry about fires.

  • Lasted only one winter season...
Color: grey-l
Easy to mount, kept chicken coop from hitting the freezing zone, really like the digital temperature display and looks nice BUT it stopped heating after only one season ( less than a year). It now only blows cold air. Hoped to get more than 4 months use for the price. UPDATE: bought this heater again, thinking first purchase was an anomaly. Wrong, this one lasted only a month before heating stopped. Fan blows but no heat on low and minimal on high. Sad because it looks like a quality heater otherwise. ... show more

  • Saved our turkey during a Wisconsin Blizzard & Polar Vortex Saved our turkey during a Wisconsin Blizzard & Polar Vortex
Color: grey-l
This was our emergency lifeline during a Wisconsin blizzard AND polar vortex. I would NOT recommend using this heater in a coop, or other hay/straw/woodchip filled area; this was an emergency tool that we were grateful had next day shipping. Our turkey came down with wry neck two days before we were hit with severe Wisconsin weather. We already had one coop heater that worked well to keep the coop from freezing, but we needed an additional one because the turkey was immobile and unable to keep himself warm. The heater only brings the temperature up slightly, and I think just circulates and maintains the warm air that was usually only within a couple feet of the other heater. I like that the temperature number was illuminated, which also indicated it was on and working. The wire protection coil was super important, as it was visible in a few spots where it plugs in, and deterred any beaks and claws from messing with it. The filter on the back can be removed to wipe down, and it did a decent job of keeping most of the particulates from getting inside, but obviously being in a winter coop filled with straw, it did start to build up inside. I took it out recently so that I could clean inside it, but I am unsure of how to do so. One of the photos in the lower description shows the front vent being removed, but I don’t know if that was for demonstration, as there does not seem to be a way for me to remove it myself. I was able to use a hairdryer to blow some of the dust out, but I’m hoping I can get in touch with someone who can either show me how to get into the unit, or if there is a type of air compressor that is safe to use on it. Once summer is here, I can remove the winter bedding and hopefully get the heater set back up for when it gets cooler again come fall. (Side note, towel was used to keep our turkey calm for me to administer Selenium Gel into his mouth) ... show more

  • DOG HOUSE HEATER
Color: grey-l
Works perfectly. Mounted it at half height on the back wall. Have the power cable exiting the wall via a hole behind the heater. Fashioned a sturdy wire fence 5-sided cage around the heater to protect the heater. Both this cage and the heater can easily be detached to clean out dog hair, in necessary, and to remove after winter. Attaching flexible, slotted doghouse door flap helps to maintain ideal inside temps in very cold weather. This setup work was required to make the installation ideal. Not rated 5 Stars only because this setup work is recommended for the safest installation. ... show more

  • Small and efficient Small and efficient
Super petite heater with plenty of warmth, it has the chew deterrent on the cord, a nice on off switch so you don’t have to unplug/plug it to turn it on or off. For as small as it is it puts out a lot of heat and it’s nice it has the temperature gauge on it. It comes with all the mounting hardware (2 screws for the mounting bracket, and 2 bolts that lock the unit in place on the bracket. Even has plastic anchors if this is installed in drywall. It has a magnetic screen cover/ filter on the back for easy cleaning and it hasn’t seemed to get so hot an animal could be burned but always use caution to be safe. If your worried about a dog bumping it, maybe use a heavier screw depending on your application. It is nice that the unit will stop at 80 degrees Fahrenheit and will turn back on below 70 degrees Fahrenheit. I’m very glad I bought this and look forward to keeping my chickens warmer on frosty nights. ... show more

  • Doesn't work well in single digit temps
Color: grey-l
This heater works fine when we bring it into the house where the temps are in the 60s, however outside where we currently have very cold winter temps in the single digits and/or very low teens and where it's badly needed, it continues to work hard but pumps out little if any warm air - this is on the highest setting. It's just not strong enough for Arctic blasts. It did perform decently in 20+ degree weather. The space we are heating is maybe 5 feet by 5 feet but not strongly insulated since it's a temporary shelter for feral cats. Luckily we have insulated boxes inside for the animals but we don't need what is now performing as an air conditioner blowing on them right now. ... show more
