I have a 48x48 whelping box and 2 of these pads kept the whole area pretty good coverage for newborn puppies. The only thing is it’s not very easy to clean. The material is somehow absorbent so when you clean it with some water mixed with soap it stains when dried. That said, I put them under a pad that covers the area so in the only one seeing the stains when I clean. Still..wished the covers can either be removed for washing or made from material that can be easily wiped clean without staining. ... show more

I had six puppies, Mom was a stray found in the Desert and I didn't know she was pregnant. Well, six pups were born and once they were old enough to be on their own I bought this heating pad for them. I had ordered a large dog bed that you could zip up. I hid the heating pad under the top so they couldn't get at it. The cord has a protective cover to try to eliminate any chewing which I was worried about. They never tried to chew the cord and they loved the warmth it provided. I kept it on low as it was still pretty warm on that gauge. Now that they've been adopted out to loving homes I will be donating it to our local Animal Rescue Group where I live. I highly recommend this product as it kept the pups warm and they loved it. ... show more

worked fine for 2 months I kept it on low setting on the carport over a thick dog bed and checked it yesterday and its not working . It didnt get wet looks good just dosnt heat up. MY old lab dog loved it but down the temp is in the teens she has no heating pad,

This product had major off gassing . so much so I could smell it on my cat and dogs fur. After a couple days , the dogs would rather be cold then sit on pad . That says a lot . I gave three stars only because it was well made except for the short chord and only partially puppy proof ( I mean why have half the chord chew wrapped when the other half is exposed ? Lastly , one cannot leave on for more than 24 hours . I habe many of these type of pads ( my fave was from Sonnig) and you can leave them on at a low setting . Never had issues or chemical smells. I do not recommend the x tea large ESPECIALLY not for puppies !!! ... show more
