The bowls are extra deep compared to some others I've seen. I recommend trying them without using the middle bolt in the holder. When you raise a puppy, aside from the usual potty training, even though I'm not a fan of the crate training method, my most recent pup has a tendency to spill the food & water all over his playpen, Then, I have to clean it up before he makes it worse. After so many cleanings, I got tired of going through the same old tired routine & looked online for a solution. I'm happy to say that this works out nicely because my pup can't knock the bowls out of this & make such a big mess like he used to. They seem to fit on the bars just fine & are high enough that my pup can't use them as a climbing step to work his way to the top of the pen which is that last thing that I want to happen. So, no matter what, that's one less problem I have to deal with. Now, if I can only get the idea in his head that he has to do ALL his business OUTSIDE, then that will be another victory & I can finally ditch the puppy playpen! Five stars BTW for solid construction even though the center wingnut on both holders was unnecessary & also it's placement didn't make any sense since it it prevented the bowls from being placed in the hanger rings. ... show more
