Use both for water. The smaller one in the crate works well and is secure. Other water bowls purchased previously were destroyed. The other larger bowl goes in a large play pen for my two puppies. It stays put too, and is easy to clean. One star subtracted because it's not the best quality stainless steel, and the screws are too long in my opinion. Will scratch the wall from crate. I'm also crossing my fingers that the welding holds up at the ring that holds the bowl. Would still recommend. ... show more

I loved these bowls at first, but after a few days one of the two bowl holders broke off of the mount. I bought them because they looked sturdy.. not so much. I guess they would be good for a very small dog, or a dog that won't play with them in the crate at all. My pup broke it within days.

The media could not be loaded. It has a plate that secures the screw and nut to the exterior of the kennel. My dislike is that the bowl holder and back plate are welded at an angle so the bowls tip downward-rather than being level. That makes me a bit nervous with water going in a tipped/angled bowl. Otherwise they do screw in tightly and the ceramic bowls are made of good quality. I might buy a 2nd set so that I gave have 2 larger sized bowls as I have a standard poodle not a cat or a small puppy. No idea why there is a dog bone design in the large bowl and a fish in the bottom of the small bowl. I purchased this set as I didn’t want metal bowls that can rust and degrade over time. ... show more

    • Arrived dented and misshapened.

The big bowl has dents on the bottom and lower side and in one section on top. The small bowl has a misshapen dent on the top. Since the small bowl was protected with the larger bowl, this must have happened at the manufacturer. Does it still function? Yes, I was able to reshape the bowl so it fits in the ring, So I will live with it, rather than going through the hassle of packing it up and bringing someplace to ship it back. The metal is not a great quality, so that probably contributes as well. If you are in the market for a solution like this, I would recommend you check with another manufacturer who takes more pride in their products and has better quality control.
