I got my husky at 9 weeks old. She. Wad. Bad. Due to circumstances, I wasn't able to start crating her until she was about 8 months. The separation anxiety on this dog is unreal. We tried every crate out there. Literally. I tried natural remedies, hemp treats, CBD oil, toys, music, metal crates, plastic crates, you name it. I mean seriously. She bent metal, she chewed through the plastic, she even escaped crates with the front side zip tied down. She hated being left alone but hated being in a crate even more. She began to hurt herself trying to squeeze through small spaces she would create. Then one day I decided to stop spending stupid money on crates I knew just weren't going to work on her. Y'all. Please believe me. Please trust me. Buy this crate. Spend the extra $ to get the 48". She hasn't destroyed any part of this crate. It opens topside to put things in/take things out without letting them out. It opens from the front side as well to let them in and out. There is a removable tray for messes. It's separated by more metal wiring so they cant get to the tray. My dog shreds everything so often times, I have to pull the tray out to remove everything she has killed or destroyed (and then brought to her crate to hide but it falls through so I can find the evidence). This crate changed my life and hers. She LOVES it. She doesn't even TRY to get out anymore. I call it her "apartment" because it's massive and she usually just goes in there to hang out or nap without even being told. She loves it so much. It's easy to break down to make portable as well. We put it on the top of the car for trips or down in the back of the car with blankets and pillows for her to lay on top. I have her and a black german shepherd/black lab mix even bigger than her and they both fit comfortably in it. We have even considered buying another one just because it looks so good in the house and our other dog could use it. The only things I would change: More durable wheels (but they come off and they lock while on so the dog's cant move it around) and more durable latches for the doors but, my psycho still hasn't damaged it at all. Invest. In. This. It will change you and your dog's life. I have shared this post and a picture of the product feom Amazon on over 5 different dog pages I follow. Okay, I don’t have my dog yet. Very big in setting up the environment first. That being stated, I can address assembly, cleanliness and overall quality. Starting with assembly: it would have been very easy, however the sad mini thin crescent wrench provided is very portly made and thought out. It is nearly impossible to utilize it properly without taking hours to get all 12 screws in. The wheels where easier, as I just did them by hand and then tightened whatever millimeter that was left. Cleanliness: very dirty. It looked like there was rust or some reddish brown dust along the ends and corners. Nothing I would feel comfortable having a dog licking or gnawing at. Obviously, i felt it necessary to clean the whole thing. Now if I lived level with the ground, I would have taken it out back and washed it with a hose. I did not have such luxury, so I washed everything by hand, and it was quite the task. So not easy to clean in my opinion. Sturdiness/quality:I currently do not have the dog that this will be for, but it seems very sturdy. And pretty decent quality. It sits a bit high up with the wheels on, leading me to believe I may have to get a little ramp, so that a puppy can get inside. That is yet to be determined. I do not like how it steps up and then down into it. I would prefer it to be leveled so there is no risk of a paw getting stuck trying to come back out. No stars should be an option! I can tell that this item has been used but sold as new, the holes that the screws goes in have been stripped and the screws itself shows that, the bags the the screws and nuts come in was very dusty and the little hand wrench came bent and in able to use there was no alley wrench available for the screws to be put in. Overall it’s defective and to heavy to return on my own but buyers beware I would not recommend if this is the condition that they are selling their product. I want a refund not a replacement. This was for my new addition but all I got from this seller was an old, used, and defective headache. ... show more

Heavy duty for sure. Looks good too. Only issue is some of the screws don't thred in but for a few threads in not all the way! Its like the holes arent fully drilled! For now it's holding my big Shepard puppy! The grates at the bottom seem to bother the pup but I put a blanket down and she's good with that! Love that the tray is separate from the cage and I can pull it out and empty her spilled food without having to have her blanket and toys just sitting in her spills! ... show more

I really liked my lightweight hook-together, collapsible, black-wire, popular-brand-name crate (hint: MW) but my dog figured out how to open it . I also tried an extremely heavy duty crate that worked exceptionally well but it was quite weighty and an excessive amount of "protection" for my Labrador Retriever. So, this crate is a good deal for the cost. It's durable enough to hold my lab but a bit heavier than the popular-brand-name hook-the-sides together crate. It does collapse but, as noted by other reviewers, getting the screws in place is a problem. They do not easily screw into place and you may end up with a bunch of "stripped" fasteners. It is a bit weightier than my other popular-brand-name crate (made by MW). But it works for me. ... show more

Allen wrench key missing. Plus very difficult to insert the screws with Allen wrench from my toolbox. The screws will not go in all the way. Having to buy Allen wrench drill set to hopefully get the screws inserted correctly. Working on it. Durable, spacious, sturdy, and functional! My only problem is that I was not able to fully screw in the bolts. I mean, they are not going any place yet it bothers me that they are not flat on top. Not much cleaning bc my dog is only there to sleep. Perfect for her!
