My 5yo nephew loved this truck! He picked up the remote without any explanation or us having the read the manual and started maneuvering it as if he'd played with it before. The battery life is decent and comes with a spare so you can charge one while playing with the other. It is fairly simple to use, my 3-year-old can play with it on his own. He loves that the rc car lights up and that he's able to use it on his own. There are a few drawbacks - 1. There is a weird demo button on the controller which my son hits on occasion. It puts the car into a demo mode where the car moves on its own. My son was a little unsure about this feature (he thought it was broken). This mode is easy to set but doesn't always respond when you try to turn it off - I found turning the car off completely and then back on was the easiest way to exit this mode. 2. The car sits on springs that act as a suspension. Our first car came in, was played with for 5 minutes, and a piece of the suspension came off making the car more difficult to steer. Thankfully, the company was quick to send us a replacement and it has worked fine. All in all - the car is not terrible.
