Looks great. Especially compared to my old one. I first installed the included adhesive foam strips on the edge of the flaps, cutting a small bit with a utility knife from the edges. Then struggled slightly with getting the rubber gasket to stay in it's proper place but ultimately prevailed. It was easy to install in my current 4 inch wall pipe. I used a 3/8 drill bit for the holes in my brick siding after lining it up in my desired location. It's quiet and the flaps close when not in use. I'm not installing an additional screen due to heavy lint build up from drying blankets all the time but still feel protected against critters. I wish it came in black but stainless steel looks good. Would buy again but seems like it'll last for years to come. Their customer service reached out to see if I was satisfied with the product and offered a partial refund for the gasket 'issue'. I declined but it was a nice gesture nonetheless. Would recommend.

I just finished installing it to replace a broken plastic vent cover. It was about 10x more difficult to remove my old cover than install this new one, because the old one had been painted over and caulked around the edges. I had to score and cut through paint and caulk around the sides and scrape paint out of the flat head screw grooves. Once I got the old one off, this one slid into place easily and installed in the same screw holes. It probably took 3 minutes to install the new one including putting the foam on the louvers and installing it. I had my wife turn the dryer on, and the louvers opened between 45-80 degrees, so I consider it a success. A few notes and tips: - I didn't use the included screws, which appear to be 2" #4 screws. The screws holding the old vent cover in place were 2" #8 (best guess), so I used my own exterior wood 2" #8 screws instead. Why? The included screws would not have found purchase in the larger pre-existing screw holes, and I didn't want to be bothered with screw anchors. It's easier to just use thicker screws. - My old vent cover tube part slid over the vent tube from the dryer, whereas this one slid inside it. No problems; just different. - Adding the foam to the louvers does reduce the noise level, so I recommend adding them. You need to cut small strips to size from the included pad. Even if you covered each louver entirely, you'd have a lot extra. - Instructions, which are simple and clear, are included in English. I added a photo. - I bought the 4" vent, which was a fit to replace my old one. I guess that's standard (?) for a dryer vent, but I didn't know. Glad it fit.

This is a great vent cover but not top rated for a dryer vent cover. My beef is that it is restricting a 4-inch duct down to a 3-1/2 inch opening. The inside flange has a 90 degree bend toward the inside which only leaves a 3.5-inch hole. That flange will begin to collect lint and cause a clog. I used needle nose pliers to flatten that flange and even curled the edge toward the outside so it fit snuggly into the 4" dryer duct and reduced the dust snagging edge as much as possible. It would have been better for this unit to have fit over the outside of the duct to not cause a restriction and a lint collecting spot like the cheapo plastic unit that it replaced.
