Description

Aluminum racing radiator is designed to provide maximum cooling efficiency to prevent premature engine failure. Its light-weight, and high-heat transferring aluminum features a tube and fin design that, dramatically increases surface area that enables the heat to dissipate more efficiently. This racing radiator is at least 40% more efficient than stock ones. Most importantly, it has a much higher capacity for coolant than stock ones, which means that your cooling system will be more efficient and will be more resistant to temperature surges in racing applications.

Seems very well made and has been in use 6 months. Direct replacement for a 96 Mazda Miata with a 1.8 Lt engine, 5 speed. I would say I would buy it again but I don't anticipate having to. No issues at all.

If you are replacing your radiator, odds are you are used to encoutering problems and can deal with them. Installing this item is no exception. The metal passenger side fan shroud requires trimming at the hose bung. No biggie, 2 min job with an angle grinder. The same fan does not align perfectly with standoffs and will require trimming at one mount tab to allow clearance for bolt - will also need oversize washer to account for this. As of no, there are no leaks and it fits in the car, but did require minor modification - but again, if you're able to replace a radiator you're able to modify one to fit. (4) Stars mainly because the item doesnt have great packaging so my 1st unit arrived damaged. With 2 large dents and a ton of bent fins. The replacement was perfect and has been working great for weeks (about 2000 miles)

Fit was snug on a 2002 Miata, but considering it is a thicker radiator, that is to be expected. No major modifications were neede, a little bench grinder work on the lower mounting spuds was all, even the existing fasteners were reused. As for performance, outstanding, I have 100 percent confidence this will outperform the plastic OEM radiator substantially. ... show more

    • Does not fit the 2001 Miata without a lot of modification.

What should have been a simple task took all day. The bottom pegs and 2 of the upper fan bolt lined up with stock, but that is it. Had to cut the fan shrouds to clear AC lines and sway bar. Had to fab new mounts for top of radiator to frame. Had to cut down the lower mounts for the passenger side fan, and reposition the mounting holes on said fan. The lower fan mount holes are also too narrow. Had to dremel the fan mounts down to fit. That said, it is installed and working. If you have more time than money, and some basic fabrication/problem solving skills, then I guess this will work for you. I'm now wishing I would have just spent a little more for a better product. ... show more

its a great fan and the person who talks about the design is bad is nuts its a top tank and a lower tank connected via cooling tubes 2 sets one more set that OEM fans fit other than the hoses on the drivers siade fan hitting the shroud and its plastic and rose trimmers make quick work of making a spot the fans fit the one extra metal part on the passenger fan is what allows u to adjust and make it fit the other mounts for all the complainers TEMP stays in the perfect middle range now !!!! very nice radiator overall despite the bad reviews im very very please and im pretty sure you will be as well ... show more

    • Horrible quality control. Fan mounts for 2001 Mazda MX-5 Miata don't line up

The mounting tabs and threaded posts don't line up! ON the right side, lhe large taps at the top of one fan are too close together - looks like someone just tacked-welded it to the radiator without measuring it. Same with the bottom posts for the left side fan. They're off by ~ 1/2 inch. IF the quality of the build is that bad (it IS) there's no way I'd trust putting it in my car. Immediately back in the box for a refund. DON"T BUY THIS THING! ... show more
