Got this to keep things like ibuprofen away from kids. It’s working well so far. The lock can be a little finicky at times. It isn’t incredibly sturdy… squeezing it hard enough can make the case part separate a little. At the same time, I don’t think it’s going to just fall apart on us.

    • Stopped Working Within the First Week

We bought this because our 6-year-old thinks they're big enough to handle knives on their own to "help" cook, especially before we wake up on the weekends. The only childproof knife block on the market holds just six knives, so we needed somewhere to safely store the ones we don't often use. This box serves that purpose. However, I only gave it three stars because it is sold as a medication lock box. For small children or on trips, it's fine. But if you seriously want to keep teenagers or adults out of your medications, this box could be easily defeated for two reasons: 1. The sides are made out of flimsy materials that could simply be pierced and peeled open. 2. The edges where the top and bottom meet do not overlap. All you need is a sturdy knife or flathead screwdriver and you could peel it open like a clamshell. So, if you are looking for a serious option to keep medications or money safe, keep looking. But if you need minimum childproofing security, this would work. UPDATE: So, it stopped opening at random. All of my knives are stuck in it. Luckily, the weak points I mentioned earlier will help me reclaim my property before sending it back for a refund. DON'T BUY THIS DEFECTIVE PIECE OF JUNK. ... show more

    • Trigger Warning For This Item’s Target Audience

I personally bought this for jewelry, mostly so I don’t lose it, but that isn’t what this is advertised for. It’s less obvious in the listing, but this product is considered by its manufacturer to be to decrease prescription medication abuse. However, in 4 different spots on the packaging, inside and out, including packaging you have to look at and remove to make it work, it proudly declares in large print how it tackles prescription medication abuse. If you actually have anyone in your life who struggles with this, which would assuredly be why you’d own it for that purpose, this is the most triggering thing they could possibly see. I don’t know anyone with prescription issues, but I do have family with alcohol problems and the last thing I’d do is cover something meant to help keep them on the wagon in reminders about the option to fall off of it. If you want it for that, open it when they are not around and could not walk in, then shred the inserts/packaging with that information on it or shove it in the shipping bag/box so it is fully hidden and throw it out that way. Shame because it really is an amazing product for my jewelry, but it’s completely fine either if you don’t know anyone with that issue or once you get rid of the packaging and insert. ... show more
