Excellent functionality! This is the 3rd controller I have purchased and I am happy with this one! Learning DMX is already difficult when you’re used to just using remotes and apps. So what makes this better than another is ease of use and CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS. There is also a YT video that is very helpful you can find by searching the name of the product. The instructions are small (I had to get my reading glasses), but they are pretty straightforward and easy to understand. Many manufacturers assume if you are purchasing these controllers that you already know how to use them. This manual is written as if you don’t know anything about DMX lighting. So I appreciate that! It doesn’t make any noise, very quiet operation and it’s just big enough to be compact but it feels like a professional tool. The USB light that’s included will come in handy on performance nights as I am working with a small group of kids on a musical production. The sliders and buttons are high quality components. That and the ease of use and make the controller an excellent choice for beginners. For $119 it’s a great option. I didn’t want cheap, but I didn’t want to spend $3k either. So I’m very satisfied!

Bought this as a gift for my brother and his band. He told me that this single unit controls all their lights, effects and other things. He was able to get it working in minutes and never once looked at any instructions. Its not my area of expertise but for a small investment, this thing seems to have a lot of power. Its really cool that they were able to simply connect the existing cables and controls right into this unit without needing any adapters or special items. Happy I got this for him and I expect he will gte many years of use.

I bought this for our back yard party's. Great music needs a great light show. Perfect for my grandkids birthday party's and any other party events. The controller is small enough to make it portable but is packed with features to entertain any party you can throw at it. Party on dude!

Ive used this controller on and off with a light rig I do for a cover band for a few months now and this has worked consistently so far. When I first got it, I found it a little intimidating because it was my first controller. I was lucky I found a YouTube video that pretty much explained what i needed to do and that helped me understand what a great controller this is. I did get a different one that was a little simpler so I could learn DMX. Once I figured it out, I started trying to use this one and so far, i can make scenes for multiple pars and effect lights and program them and recall for each show. I think the value for the money is there with this controller being $100 at the time of this review. This controller feels durable and sturdy and has lasted through rough tear downs. Its lightweight but doesn't feel cheap. It's also nice and quiet and doesn't get too hot when using it. This controller only uses 3 pin dmx cables so be sure to check that your system doesn't use a different type of dmx cable. If you are getting a controller to learn this one is a little more complex than others but its a good one to get if you want to dive right in. I could see a small venue using this for their house lights or even a band that has a small light setup. You could even run this on stage with you if you really needed to.

I work on a lot of electronics, so my workbench consists of things like...power supplies, oscilloscopes, LCR meters, function generators, and so forth. But some things require specialized equipment to test. DJ lights are one of those things - you can't test a light to see if it responds to commands from a DMX controller without a DMX controller to send it commands WITH. (See the logic?) So, literally, I got this to use on my test bench for when I'm checking out DMX lights. It's actually perfect for this, because all I really need is a "budget" DMX controller. I won't be staging multi-light big-band displays...just running a light on the bench. So, I don't need a $1k DMX controller, a <$150 DMX controller is just fine for me. For what I need...saying to a DJ light, "Do you work?"...this is perfect for me. And so, because it seems like a fairly well featured DMX controller (from what I know of them, which is probably about 1/4 what a DJ would know about one), comes in at a reasonable price for a piece of test equipment, even if it is a bit specialized, and does what I need it to do...I gave it 5 stars. Please see reviews from actual DJ's for a more DJ-oriented perspective, lol. I'm just a guy with a soldering iron.
