I've been using the Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV1 2-deck Serato DJ Controller since around 2022, and it’s been solid from the start. Great for parties and all kinds of events. I really like the old school look and feel, it gives that classic DJ vibe with modern functionality. As a vinyl turntablist, I bought this controller as a backup unit to practice ane play around with in case my main control vinyl setup were to go down before or during a gig. I must say all the features in this mixer are amazing, easy to use, fun, and are plug and play. This thing plugs right in and works flawlessly with serato. For the price point and what you get this controller is awesome. As a vinyl scratch and performance House music DJ I love it, except for the fact its not a turntable and its small jogs make scratching and backspinning very difficult compared to what I'm used to. Even compared to CDJs which I also own. Not to say you can't scratch or perform tricks because you totally can, but just for my own personal preference I prefer bigger platters or jogs with adjustable tension so I'm only giving 4 out of 5stars for that reason along with inability to run analog thru the mixer portion of it. Otherwise, this is one helluva value packed piece of equipment! So if your looking for an entry level controller, I highly recommend this one. It compares to more expensive models, its battle style, it gives you everything you need to learn all the basics and gives you nothing you dont or won't need. Cheers!     • Controller was supposed to be brand new, but clearly was not
My wife and kids got my the REV1 controller as a surprise for Father's Day. Immediately when it was delivered, my wife feared something was not right with it. The item was shipped in the controller box with a shipping label slapped on it, along with several other brown stickers on the outside to cover portions of the box that had other stickers or damage, with no other protection. Clearly, that box is not meant to ship the unit in by itself as the edges was all bent in and damaged. When I picked it up, the box was very light, and I could feel/hear something loose inside. The tabs at the top of the box were not secured at all and you could tell they had been tampered with. Upon opening the box, the controller was visibly used: extremely dirty, dusty, no plastic sleeve or bag surrounding the unit or the Styrofoam, the sliders and knobs you could see had visibly been used/moved, and the USB cord was just thrown loose in the box without even a tie around it. Needless to say, I was disappointed, considering this was supposed to be brand new direct from Pioneer DJ. I'm hoping Pioneer sees this and makes things right. Wasn't much point in trying the unit out. I should not have to spend time thoroughly cleaning/blowing/dusting the jog wheels and components of a brand new unit before even using it the first time. ... show more
