This thread added the perfect accent to a spiderweb design that I embroidered on Converse high tops. By day, it appears to be white and in the dark the green glow is noticeable without being distracting like the battery powered string lights are.

First time trying DMC glow floss and I'm very satisfied! I tried a different company for a ghost pattern I was cross stitching and the thread was like metallic floss and while it glowed beautifully, the floss did not lay as easily as cotton floss and I gave up. Performance wise, this DMC floss has a slightly different feel than their regular 6 strands floss. It's a little "stiff". However, it is not any more difficult to use than their regular 6 strand floss and lays beautifully. The quality is great! It doesn't "fray" like metallic floss but I do shorten the length I usually stitch with a bit. Buying in "bulk" saves money on the floss and I'll use it in a variety of my spooky projects! Things you should know.... this is posted on a VERY VERY well know needlepoint company's page and is a wonderful note: DMC Pearl Cotton (Size 5) Best for 18 mesh. So...or maybe sew. I guess this does glow in the dark, quite bright. But there are two issues with this DMC thread; the texture is kind of weird, which I guess it has to be because of the glow properties of it, but this affects the way you embroider. It’s to thick for tapestry needles, so one has to struggle a lot to be able to get it through the needle. I would describe this thread on the thicker side, which is a hassle because while you are cross stitching the thread bulks up and creates knots. Arghhhh so sewing with this thread crates a lot of challenges, but the end product is good because it does glow super cool in the dark. ... show more
