Just a couple thoughts on this remote. First it took me almost a month to get it because it comes directly from China. The quality is very good which is to be expected from DJI. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this until after I purchased, you can only power on one camera and powered off. If you're controlling more than one camera, they all have to be on and then it's just a start stop function. Kind of disappointing because the reason why I got this was to control multiple cameras on my motorcycle, oh well kind of disappointing. Also, sometimes it does have a hard time finding the camera, but perhaps a software update in the future will fix this.

It's the only remote for an DJI Action 4, so there's no competition. The problems are: 1. The battery doesn't last long enough to run as long as I need it, like 3-4 hours it will be dead. A boat trip for me is 6 hours or so. I ended up strapping it to a small USB power bank and leaving it connected, makes it rather larger (see photo). Could be used stand alone for, maybe three hours, but then it will need to be connected. I'm sure the GPS is using a lot of power, but haven't found a way to turn it off. My GoPro "The Remote" has no battery problems at all over six hours, and probably much longer. 2. The screen is tiny and terrible outside in the sun where it just turns gray. The little red led that blinks while it is recording is also difficult to see, but the green led shows okay. Again, the GoPro "The Remote" is a larger screen and easier to read outside. Start and Stop Note: I first used it just pushing the start and stop button like I do on the GoPro remote, but that leaves the camera on, draining the battery. Start can be a normal press, but Stop is Press and Hold, which will put the camera to sleep in between shots; it still wakes up fast, so that isn't a problem. A small moon icon will show on the screen when it is sleeping (if you can see it). I can't Not suggest it, it's the only game in town, and is getting the job done.

Works great with my Action 4. It's pricier here at Amazon but at least it's available and they ship. It's original OEM from DJI and shipped from China and arrived about 10 days earlier than the original estimated delivery date.

I was the most excited person for this product. For some reason I ignored all its shortfalls, but in practice, they all make using the camera annoying and difficult. The reason you buy a remote control is to remotely control one or multiple items While this remote control there’s a lot of caveat you have to consider For example, you have to keep the camera on in order to use the remote control, which defeats the purpose of a remote control because you cannot remotely turn the device on. Secondly, the GoPro have GPS built-in, but this can only get GPS Through the remote. Great, but DJI offers no software to customize this GPS data nor will they allow you to export it as a separate.GPX file or something. This makes the GPS data all but useless unless you go through the DGI memo app, and then your video has to look exactly like all other videos. My use case is I get in my race car and I want to go record and not have to worry about recording. I have found that since purchasing this very expensive remote I don’t use it because the sequence to connect multiple cameras is not straightforward. And when you do it takes you out of the custom modes. I had to turn the cameras individually on and when I’m turning them on I’m as well as press record so once again, this remote is absolutely useless at its purpose of remotely control in a camera. I'm a DJI fanboy but this ain't it chief. Also what's with locking this to the action 4? And excluding the 3 At the end of the day though this remote is not fully thought out and fails due to usability issues
